  1. Not sure of release date for Nonaah - depends on cash flow. Next in line is Charles Tyler's Saga of the Outlaws and maybe Wadada's Spirit Catcher.
  2. Can a restraining order be far off?
  3. Have not listened to a Mosaic in months. I like Mosaic a bunch but have shitloads of other stuff. FWIW, last I listened to was the Hill Select. Wonderful package.
  4. Disc 7 on my copy of Ayler's "Holy Ghost" has a bunch of glue (?) on the outer half inch of the disc. I need help. Kensington "screen cleaner" didn't cut it.
  5. In 1966/7 Lester Bowie kept hammering me with "KD is a MF" messages. Though I had a number of records with Dorham as a sideman it had not "sunk in" until then. Another reason for me to thank Lester Bowie
  6. Yes, if you don't have the material buy the set. If it is "really" remastered, I will too. Fine stuff.
  7. 'bout a dozen left. I am waiting on the morning mail for some orders too. Thanks to those ordering. All proceeds go towards a couple of reissues from my catalog. First on the list is Roscoe's "Nonaah" (pronounced no-nay-ah). This 2 lp set won the "album of the year" award in the DB critic's poll in 1978. It tied with Dexter's "Homecoming". I am "sponsoring" the rebuilding of a 1" 8 track machine to remix the original session masters.
  8. If I understand correctly this is all material from the 78 format. I have not done a track comparison but most (if not all) of the material is available on "First Sessions Vol 2", "Kaleidoscope" and however they currently title the Stitt/Bud Powell/ JJ Johnson disc. Any number of the Ammons/Stitt titles of the era could be included. If my understanding of the project is correct, I dearly hope they made new transfers from "original sources" instead of "tuning up" old reissues.
  9. One of my favorite McLeans influenced by the joint playing of Lee and Jackie.
  10. 'twould be interesting if Matthew entered the conversation.
  11. What Jim said. My background is similar and I am not egotistical enough to believe humans are the "end all". Some other shit is going on and I have enjoyed the ride so far and am grateful. I hope I have not offended the "big guy" with the conduct of my life.
  12. If this is the one with Pharoah Sanders, it's not a Savoy session and it was probably recorded in January 1964. If it has Clifford Jordan and Sonny Simmons, it's a dub from a very rare, privately produced lp, also not Savoy. Ed Rhodes Two different deals. I think I have both.
  13. I knew MC was really important, but I had no idea that Mosaic has its own law. Now that's a smart-ass answer. Or a dumb-ass answer. Either way, I knew "ass" was part of it. Long as you know your station.
  14. The "gazillion tuba" mention reminds me of a little story. After we recorded Roscoe's "the Maze" at Columbia, a bunch of the guys (Braxton, Threadgill, Moye, Favors, etc) were talking about organizing a group to see the new film "the Swarm" (I think) about thousands of "killer bees" invading the US from the south. I said I heard they were all coming to the US for Braxton's next recording date and everybody cracked up 'cept Tony.
  15. Marsupial beer? Pouch? I don't think so. Guess you need this to wash down haggis.
  16. Conversely, do people who suck steal? I'm worried.
  17. You are too young to have the 78, 45, 10" lp, 12" lp, cd quandary.
  18. I knew MC was really important, but I had no idea that Mosaic has its own law. Now that's a smart-ass answer. Or a dumb-ass answer.
  19. I used to sort my lps by spine color. I'd start with pastels and move to darker colors. All those early RCAs and Columbias with white spines were confusing.
  20. No pressure, just a notice. I'd rather sell them to "folks" than stores or distributors. Thanks for your time.
  21. You are such a fickle bitch!
  22. I'm really fascinated by the stress lines on Pablo's head. What a shot!
  23. Been trying to answer that for a number of years. I decided "pop vocals".
