  1. Lousy "unipak" sleeve. I hated them.
  2. Looks like the back of Rudy's lot to me. ← If you have Google Earth loaded, enter 445 Route 9W, Englewood Cliffs, NJ and you will see RVG's studio. It is the wooded lot under the number given. As you can see, corp. sites are surrounding him. Thanks to Rudy for saving the trees.
  3. Ms. Davis has done an amazing amount of good for Mr. Grimes. If there are negatives, so be it. In a couple of years we will know if the overall influence was negative but we should give her some "props".
  4. "Warm fuzzies" are in order for the original BUT during the Pete Fincham days a number of us have very bad feelings. You don't want to hear what Bruno Johnson (Okka) has to say about this era.
  5. Yes. Refer to wise ass thread. Maybe in the morning when I have more time.
  6. I never use it. ← Remind me to stand back.
  7. No real reason to bring the "rainbow series" into a discussion of a poorly recorded session. Comments can reflect on a whole series unfairly.
  8. There's your first question. Much better than asking if he likes the guys on Criss Cross.
  9. 40 years ago an "old queen" (his description, not mine) told me he never understood why insults frequently included "asshole" and "prick".
  10. I understand it exists. I think I said this earlier.
  11. If it is glass based, it is a reference lacquer, not a test pressing. Big dif and probably much better quality.
  12. Looks like the back of Rudy's lot to me.
  13. It was very inspiring. ← Curious how you will use this inspiration. Details please.
  14. Julius Hemphill Blue Boye on Mbari.
  15. Are the alts at the end?
  16. Since you seemed to beg for 'flames' I will respond. Ed Hall was a very fine clarinet player. I have him on hundreds of recordings and have enjoyed him for 40+ years. He tended to 'get hot' by throwing some switch and he was overly influenced by BG at some point. Considering your list of favorites I suggest Dodds, Simeon, Goodman, Shaw, Nicholas, Bechet, Russell, Tesch, Defranco or even Giuffre. Moving on a bit, how about Braxton, Mitchell, etc.
  17. May your worries be few. Thanks for being you.
  18. Sorry to say I feel my friend Clem has lost all (at least much) focus. Read his posts and note he's disputing his own recommendations. Dark/not/yes/no. Come back "real Clem"!
  19. What can it do for me today?
  20. If you like "Serenade" and want a more "kick ass" disc contact me about "Have No Fear".
  21. It is a fine document of the time but nothing like hearing him in person.
  22. for Granz.
  23. HERE!
  24. Sometimes I do it like this:
  25. Maybe if you expand the pool of applicants beyond Joe, Jim & Randy you'll get more nibbles! ← I meant Organissimo forum members, not just Organissimo band members! ← Sorry, but I'm 195 miles away. Otherwise, I'm always up for comps.
