I saw those shows and think the band executed the charts "above and beyond". Good musicians, at least as good as the material set in front of them. No complaints on that level.

Going from memory only (very dangerous at this point) most of the arrangements were by George Cates who also shows up as composer/arranger on some mainstream Impulse dates at this point.

It's alway easy to underestimate Von.

Have not heard the interview but have spent some "recent" time with Mr Grimes. The memory is gone. He only seems to remember things told to him recently. We can all be thankful he's here and working.

One simple rule: if you don't have the legit Stockholm and Paris concerts, stop. Then, if you have digested these, decide if you believe in "whatever" or "not me". In this day we all have to set our own standards. The Paris stuff should be the first priority.

Ms. Davis has done an amazing amount of good for Mr. Grimes. If there are negatives, so be it. In a couple of years we will know if the overall influence was negative but we should give her some "props".
