  1. It's amazing they had enough hearing left to listen to ANYTHING.
  2. The problem is, to get a REALLY good guitar teacher, you have to travel to Michigan. [That's payback for all your sage advice ]
  3. If it makes you feel any better, from the looks of her patch, that woman is an FBI Agent: As in:
  4. Although . . . hmmmmm . . . I dunno . . . a nice big hollow body jazz box?
  5. That's how I've been learning to play. And people wonder why there aren't many vintage Gibson hollow bodies around anymore.
  6. You're giving all of us monitor envy.
  7. With rent control??? You'd be NUTS to move!
  8. You must be married. That's what I was going to say! I like the new Cool Cat avatar, Ron. I'm glad you're happy with your guitar. Marriage, and especially kids--surest way to kill your sex life.
  9. You must be married.
  10. Enjoy! I wish I would of thought of Rondo before I bought the Epiphone (1st post in this thread.). Dammit! Now I have to look at Epiphones also!
  11. Chris, are you anywhere near (or in) the Dakota? (And I now know where I'm staying the next time I'm in NYC )
  12. Well, as much as I know (which isn't much), great! I'm just getting back into guitar after about 30 years, and really hadn't gotten very far when I was a kid. But it sounds great and has nice action out of the box. I'm going to change the strings and may do a little bit of set up myself, or I may just do the rational thing and take it to a luthier. But it's a beautiful guitar with a lot of nice detail and, for $250, is a fantastic deal. I called Rondo before I ordered it, and they told me that they only have a few left, and won't be getting more in until the summer.
  13. The G.A.S. you guys have must be contagious. I received this Agile Cool Cat yesterday and I'm already thinking about which jazz box I can get next. Thanks to you freaks, I've been looking on line at Corts, Ibanez Artcores, . . . . So many guitars, so little time.
  14. Nice view! Is that from Central Park West (best guess)? or 5th Ave. (second guess)?
  15. How much would that be using Media Mail?
  16. You could sell it to me for $50.
  17. I just got this a couple of weeks ago. Terrific.
  18. You owe me for hitting you THAT grounder.
  19. Hmmmm . . . . . . . I wonder where I can find some Organissimo fake books?
  20. Then I'll just hire you to play my guitar.
  21. Thinking about naked women made him forget.
  22. Did you learn to read standard notation pretty much from the beginning?
  23. What do you use in fake books--tab, or music, or both?
  24. So do you learn new stuff mostly from sheet music? or from tabs? or by ear?
  25. I've already discussed this with Jeff in PM's, but I'd be interested in other people's perspectives on this (if they're not too busy soldering at the moment ): Do you use tablature, real sheet music, or both? And for a beginner--or REbeginner--such as myself, who intends to play mostly jazz, would you recommend learning to use tablature, real sheet music, or both in the beginning?
