  1. Dammit! Someone left Atlantis off the list again! How soon they forget.

    Feb 15 RVGs

Speaking of sound, how DOES the sound of the "Night in Tunisia" RVG compare to the earlier CD? A similar question about the "Horace Silver and the Jazz Messengers" RVG is pending in another thread, and there are a few of us (maybe 3 or 4 total?) in the world who would like to know how the actual sound compares before "upgrading" to RVGs, 20-bit K2s, Sense-o-Round, Cinerama, Smell-o-Vision . . . .
  3. I hope I'm still doing ANYTHING at their age.
  4. Just got tickets for this concert at Verizon Hall of the Kimmel Center, home of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Sort of a '63 Carnegie Hall redux? Should be great to see both of these legends (Brubeck and McPartland) in one show. Anyone else going?
  5. Looks sorta like a police lineup, although the Broadway would be at a distinct disadvantage if it were.
  6. In fairness to our cake-loving friends, we should concede that something that's "easy as [eating] pie" would also be "a piece o' cake."
  7. Hmmmmmm . . . . . . . and all this time I thought the Bronx was in New York City.
  8. Are we letting politics intrude on this question? Well, to quote Malcolm out of context, that's "as American as cherry pie" ! You know I don't like Cherry pie Che. Isn't the expression "as American as APPLE pie" anyway? I think the cherry gets thrown in there because of the apocryphal story of the young George Washington chopping down a cherry tree.
  9. Stupid question: what's with the "Sir"?
  10. Obviously, if you're really talented with a fork, you go for pie. Those more insecure about their forking ability and stamina, will go for the cake every time.
  11. Yeah, sure, it sold out in the 1960's. But back then people only used the CDs as COASTERS, so it's hard to find a set now without those rings left by glass condensation or spill stains or scuff marks all over the CDs.
  12. Indeed. And "One Step Beyond."
  13. I know this is a '70's thread (so when did the official thread title ever stop me?), but all the supernatural/horror shows of the '70's pale by comparison to the "Zone" and the "Limits" of the late '50's/early '60's.
  14. And why the hell not???
  15. Jeff, Some of those Ibanez models list in the $400 range, meaning their street prices are probably close to the Agile Cool Cat. Would you still go with the Agile? And also, can you get me some macaroni and cheese??
  16. "Hey, where's Jeff with that tuna casserole???"
  17. Jeff's first guitar:
  18. Thanks, Jeff! They should pay you a commission on any sold to members of this Board.
  19. Jeff, Aside from the special Limited Edition Cat Shatner Model (which is too pricey for me, anyway), which model would you recommend for the best all-around jazz sound and fairly easy action (for a beginner)? The "Cool Cat" (which must be the model named for Cat Shatner when he's incognito)?
  20. Too late. I've already burned it from the site and have the CDR for sale on Ebay. [just kidding ]
  21. OF COURSE that's exactly how he signs it! You think these are FORGED or something???
  22. Amazing! Rondo Music is now showing THIS Limited Edition model on their site:
  23. Sweet, Jeff! Can I order a special autographed model? (only half joking)
  24. So, it would would seem that something weird's still going on. Hmmmm . . . I wonder how many Allen Lowe CDs are now appearing on the True Blue site?
