  1. Assuming this is the Goodman session (which it seems to be), Mosaic describes it as a sextet, but it's actually an octet: 28 October 1940 New York Adlib Blues Charlie's Dream I Never Knew Lester's Dream Wholly Cats Clarinet: Benny Goodman Piano: Count Basie Guitar: Charlie Christian, Freddy Green Bass: Walter Page Drums: Jo Jones Trumpet: Buck Clayton Tenor Sax: Lester Young http://www3.nbnet.nb.ca/hansen/Charlie/ccdisc.htm#GUEST EDIT: However, this session is included in the Charlie Christian "The Genius of the Electric Guitar" box (and perhaps elsewhere), and is also described there as a sextet. Maybe Mosaic decided that, given the gunked-up discs in Sony's horrendous packaging of the Christian box, this session deserves another chance.
  2. Presumably, except for the Hardman and Goodman sessions. He's there too! Presumption rebutted.

  8. I'm not sure that all of the titles that have been disappearing from the site the past few days are necessarily gone for good. The site contains the following statement: "Please note, we only show store search results for releases currently in stock in the ConcordMusicGroup.com web store." I recommend checking any title of interest on Amazon, and if Amazon itself is still selling it on a current basis, and several Marketplace sellers are selling it at reasonable prices, it's probably not OOP (or at least not yet scarce). On the other hand, you'll find that some of the titles in this sale are being sold on Amazon only by a couple of Marketplace sellers--if any--and for extremely high prices. Those, of course, are the ones to grab from the Concord sale. Speaking of which, a nice little CD that seems to be still available in the Concord sale, but is only available from a few Amazon Marketplace sellers for $47 USED and $90 new, is Ruth Price with Shelly Manne & His Men at the Manne-Hole: Track samples are available on Amazon. Very nice live recording of a rarely recorded singer (sort of a cross between Anita O'Day and June Christy) with wonderful backing by Manne and his Men. If I didn't already have it, I'd grab it.
  9. Wow! Glad I ordered those when I did! I missed out on those 2. I was able to get some others (already received) that are now gone, though. I put in another order tonight for some that still show up on the site, but who knows if they'll really be there by the time Concord starts processing orders again on January 2nd.
  10. I've been "collecting," on and off, the OJC Limited Editions, figuring that some of them are the least likely to be re-released in the future. I was putting a list together earlier and was shocked to realize that I have over 80 of them now. Most of them I've never seen in the stores. Take a look on Amazon and see the prices being asked for many of them by Marketplace sellers. I picked up a lot of them during the last Concord sale for 3 bucks a pop. They've wised up this time around and aren't giving them away again. Even so, I've noticed that quite a few of them have disappeared from the site just within the last day or so. I've also noticed that for some titles, Amazon Marketplace merchants like Newbury Comics seem to have fairly large quantities (30 or so) in stock. I wonder if some of the merchants have been buying out Concord's stock of the OP titles (seems like that happened during the last sale).
  11. For those who are interested, lots of titles seem to be disappearing. Although orders can still be placed online, they won't be processing any more orders until January 2nd, so who knows what will be available by then (i.e., get your orders in sooner rather than later).
  12. Now that would be something. I didn't know it was possible to have just a few with conn.
  13. I know. Probably sold more w/the wrong samples. At least AMG has the right samples (which, by the way, are INFINITELY better ).
  14. I was kinda disappointed that there's no scatting on this: EDIT: BTW, you should check out the track samples currently on Amazon--you may be a bit surprised: http://www.amazon.com/Gallery-Paul-McKee/d...7103&sr=1-4
  15. Yeah? So what else is new? I guess that means you'll have to shut down the Board, now.
  16. Can't imagine why. From one of the reviews of his book on Amazon: As any serious student of drama knows, Stanislavski and Chekov go together like . . . . . . . . . . . . well, Goober and Gomer!
  17. I edited my post and made a GOOBER MONTAGE.

  20. So Lon, no more of Austin's wonderful public transit system for you?
  21. Guy, how were you able to get him to pose for you?
  22. Brownie, I hope you'll be able to see your way clear to a stateside trip. I'm sure you still have connections in New York, and there's always a place in Philadelphia if you wish! Cheers, Peter Make that TWO places in Philly!

  24. Someone needs to prepare a one-page executive summary of this thread for me, so that I won't have to waste a few days plowing through 492 posts.
