I'm looking at the Parlan, Stitt, Capitol Jazz, and Donaldson. Which, if any, I'd get now? That's a different question.

.....My only consolation is that if neither Concord nor Zweitausendeins come through by the end of the month, I can then justify an order from the Mosaic sale. Unless they can keep you hanging for two + weeks. I'm guessing by now, they're capable of it. Doesn't matter--I got 'em beat. If their orders don't show up by August 31st, I'm Connecticut-bound (virtually speaking). And maybe even if their orders DO show up, so there!

Ugh! Thanks for bringing up another sore subject. My recent Zweitausendeins order supposedly shipped on July 28th, and still hasn't arrived 2 weeks later. I know they say to allow 3 weeks, but my previous orders arrived much more quickly. It's a conspiracy, I tell ya--they're all out to get me. My only consolation is that if neither Concord nor Zweitausendeins come through by the end of the month, I can then justify an order from the Mosaic sale.

Which Mosaic Are You Enjoying Right Now?

And the show was done in PHILLY (well, for most of its run). -
My guess is that the Coltrane box--like the Evans box--is history. You may be right. I wonder if what they're doing (and not telling anyone) is holding the Trane orders in case the product shows up. Could be, but I have a lot of singles on the same order (#6100, 7/24/06), and would hate to see some of those singles run out while they're waiting to maybe find some more Trane boxes. It's being run by Berkeley work-study students, I tell ya.

Hank Mobley, discs 1-3 -
That's easy for you to say--you've actually gotten some product! I'm beginning to think that Concord turned this whole thing over to some Berkeley work-study students on summer break (they confirmed that they are shipping these out of Berkeley). "Hey guys--empty out this warehouse by the end of the summer, and you'll each get 500 bucks!"
-
Well, I was told the exact same thing more than once, and today is the 14th business day since my July 24th order. We'll see if I get a shipping notice today, but I'm not holding my breath. Meanwhile, the Coltrane box has been pulled from the sale pages yet again. You'd think that a company the size of Concord--now owning both Fantasy and Telarc--would run this operation more efficiently.

Ron, This is a Patti Page event ("Que Se Ra, Se Ra, whatever will be will be....). Don't sweat it! That's true--I can always come out to K of P and listen to your CDs. (And wasn't that Doris Day?)

OK--Concord's messin' with me BIG TIME. Now BOTH the Coltrane AND Evans boxes have returned to the sale pages, AND they're back up to 223 total jazz titles. OH, THE HUMANITY!
-
The Coltrane box has now been dropped from the sale pages (although, like the deleted Evans box, it still shows up on an artist search). Meanwhile, a bunch of K-2s that had been dropped (Dolphy, Monk, Rollins, etc.), are now back. EDIT: Now the Coltrane AND the Evans boxes are both back. And they're back up to 223 total jazz titles. That's it--I give up.

On the other hand, a bunch of K-2s (Dolphy, Monk, Rollins, etc.) that had been deleted from the sale, are now back. So who the hell knows? Meanwhile, drip . . . drip . . . drip . . . .

I was told by Concord that we won't be notified of any out-of-stock items in our orders until we open the package (when and if it arrives) and read the enclosed packing list. Unless, of course, you count as notification the removal of the item from the sale pages in the days or weeks after your order was placed.

Thanks, guys!

Stupid question I've been meaning to ask for a long time: OBI="original box and inserts"? or something else? ( I know what an OBI strip is--just wondering about the derivation of the term.)
-
Several of those titles are in my 2 pending orders, also. I'm afraid that their disappearance from the sale pages is bad news. I was told in a couple of different phone calls with Concord that titles are removed from the sale when they become physically out-of-stock, and not when stock is exhausted by pending orders. Which makes this even more of a slow water torture, watching titles I ordered gradually drop out of stock while my first order languishes for 17 days and counting. OTOH, the customer reps at Concord may not know what they're talking about, and we'll end up with everything we ordered.

SIXTEEN F'N DAYS since I placed my first order, and still no shipping! And then there's my second order. I'm no longer enjoying the abuse. Ron getting a little impatient. Just a teensy bit.

Don't hold your breath, Ron. I've received no word on my order of the 18th yet. It was the Trane box set, so maybe those go slower or something. I'll let you know when I get mine. Don't forget: some of the CDs in my first order are yours.

First order (No. 6100) placed on July 24, no word yet either.

for those who missed out the cheap Universal Mosaics
Ron S replied to tjobbe's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Well this order arrived today! The box was a little worse for wear, but the most interesting thing was that someone had scratched out my address, and hand-written over it was an address in Philly (to a Mr. "Ron S" or something). Luckily, my friendly neighborhood postal worker caught the mistake and made the correct delivery. It looks like that bottle of champagne I gave him for the 4th of July paid off this year! Meanwhile, my July 25th order is still in transit. Or . . . is it really in CORPUS CHRISTI??? -
they are teasing us I, for one, enjoy the abuse.
