  2. Wanted to include the track "Easy Living" in an upcoming show. Went to the Mosaic Jazztet collection and found that McCoy's entrance is clipped at the beginning, so I had to use the one on this album instead. It's extremely slight, but it's still a bit jarring.

  4. April Stevens was one of those singers that my father couldn’t get enough of. When we had parties at the house, he’d invariably bring out “Teach Me Tiger” and begin tittering with “the boys.” Known, also, for her work with her younger brother Nino Tempo. https://www.legacy.com/news/celebrity-deaths/april-stevens-1929-2023-deep-purple-singer-with-nino-tempo/

  6. Various Artists - Colour Theory Turning the spotlight onto the diverse colour spectrum of modern jazz music, "Colour Theory" is a compilation that unites some of the world's most interesting jazz composers, breathing fresh new life into the genre. Presented in a deluxe gatefold jacket on heavy-weight orange vinyl, this double LP release features a myriad of perspectives on today's jazz scene: the spiritually infused works of iconic Brazilian jazz pianist Amaro Freitas, the otherworldly psychedelic sounds of Italian jazz drummer Tommaso Cappellato, the solo works of UK keyboardist Dominic J Marshall (Cinematic Orchestra), the exciting electronic infusion of US-based Keeth and Mad Keys, the alternate take on '70s jazz vibes from Zac Colwell (Of Montreal, Fancy Colors), and the imaginative J-Jazz stylings from Tokyo's Kazumi Kaneda.
  7. Well, the name Jaffee might be a Hebrew derivation of the name you mentioned, but anyway, Al Jaffee’s work had a considerable influence of silliness on a generation of young people - at least in America.
