  1. That's such a good one!
  2. P.S. Clues from Jim's post lead me to say the tune on Track 5 is "Bluesette" by Toots Thielemans. Of course!
  3. I'd back all of those!
  4. Track 2: Barry Harris playing Parker's "Moose the Mooche" Track 4: "Take the A Train", but not Ellington. Track 5: Tune very familiar indeed, but of course I can't put a name to it. Track 7: "Someday My Prince Will Come"
  5. Probably We Free Kings. Best flute album I Talk with the Spirits and not just Kirk! Saw Kirk twice: at Ronnie Scott's with a house rhythm section and at the Free Trade Hall, Manchester in the sensational company of Benny Bailey and Philly Joe Jones.
  6. Larry Kart Truck Parham George Van Eps
  7. Blue Devils Walter Page David Bookbinder
  8. I never saw the Bond Organization, but I saw him earlier when he was with Don Rendell. They were, as it says on the tin, "roarin'". I always remember the title, "Bring Back the Burch", a favourite cry at Tory women's conferences in those days.
  9. I like that one, Peter! (Saw Tiberi leading a reconstituted Herman orch in the 90s after the death of the master.) Album cover clearly influenced by the art works of Christo, who wrapped everything: Now playing:
  10. Ah yes, it was the Namyslowski quartet that I saw. As for those students' politics, at least they got it right on South Africa. One morning two hundred students crossed the road to Barclay's bank and closed their accounts because of Barclays' co-operation with the apartheid regime!
