  1. I guess they had to, now that the USPS rates have gone up... that reminds me of something I've wondered. When something is shipped internationally, is their some monetary transfer between postal services? Or does everyone agree to deliver each other's international shipments? The latter.

  3. Not possible, even if I wanted to. By the way, nice picture of Jacqueline du Pré. she's my favorite! It's the 20th anniversary of her death this October.

  5. I voted no. Like I said in another thread about this subject creating separate forums for all sorts of music would clutter the board and lead to fragmentation. Not a good idea in my view. However, if there is going to be a separate classical music forum I'd also like to see one for blues/R&B - 1940s/1950s R&B, that is.

  7. As far as I know the limit is the same everywhere in the EU - but I'm sure Claude knows much more about that than I do.
  8. That's what I thought a few years ago, when I last used a carrier like DHL - until I got a friendly letter a few weeks later asking me to pay tax and duty. When I called them they told me they always billed people a couple of weeks after delivery, they didn't want their drivers to carry money around with them...
  9. New USPS rates from May 14, 2007.

  11. Terrific! It's a big band album of first order! Originally on Philips, not on Columbia, I think. Legrand Jazz was originally issued on Columbia CL-1250 Mono in 1958. Philips was Columbia's licensee in some European countries in those years.
  12. I listed some of those Mainstreams in this thread last month.
  13. I'm not too fond of the Rich Versus Roach and Moon-Faced and Starry-Eyed sessions, but overall this set is indeed one not to miss. Grab it while you can!
  14. They do say on their website that there are two or three months to go with Running Low. The time to panic will be in July or August, or when it moves to Last Chance, if sooner. If I remember correctly some sets sold out/went out of print within a few weeks...
  15. The Max Roach Mosaic and two Miles Davis Mosaic vinyl sets are running low.
  16. Has anyone heard from tjobbe recently? He still hasn't answered any of my messages...
  17. Pity, it could have been a great disc.
  18. Well, he can't change anything anymore with less than 12 hours to go.
  19. If it doesn't sell, the seller will probably relist it as a Cal Farlow record...
  20. Some sellers are just plain ignorant...
  21. I've just listened to Back Together Again again after quite some time and I have to agree with Nate; I find it utterly boring. Nate hit the nail right on its head with his review on Amazon.com (scroll down).
  22. What's the label?
  23. It'd be great if someone could post links to sound samples.
  24. It's from the March 10, 1949 Futurama session. The other songs from this date were "Chickasaw", "Bopscotch", and "The Most".
