  1. Yes, there never really was an issue. I returned my copy to Rhino at their request to have it checked and got it back with a note that the content was exactly as it should be. The alleged duplicate track turned out to be a (slightly) different take or song (can't remember exactly), not a duplicate.
  2. Great set. I got it when it came out. It sold out very quickly.
  3. I must admit that I've neglected the OM5. Are there any good CD compilations of their recordings?

    Arne Domnerus

    yep Yay
  5. Great album. I have the 1994 hatART CD issue.
  6. Click on "edit", then on "use full editor" and you can edit the thread title at the top of the page.
  7. According to Amazon U.K. and AMG the label is "T2 Jazz". It's a European public-domain label without access to original sources like master tapes. Here's the tracklist (scroll down).
  8. Oh, I like money alright...I just have no use for the Dodgers or the Yankees. But I would love a piece of the far more likable Giants Likeable Giants? Hmm... To each their own Thanks! The Giants have a family friendly ballpark, success in baseball [three WS appearances since the Dodgers' 1988 WS] and sold out games which rival the [hated] Dodgers. If you want to make money, invest in the Giants. If you want to deal with shootings and beatings with the ensuing lawsuits and in a ballpark named after a ditch, invest in the Dodgers. The Yankees, OTOH, are just plain detestable. Nuff said? Relax, I was just kidding. No need to get your knickers in a twist, as they say on this side of the pond.

  10. Pollini used to be one of my favourite pianists back in the 1970s, but I'm sorry to say that I don't like his recordings of the last two decades or so. They sound like routine jobs, lacking depth. Your mileage may vary.
  11. Sad news. A great loss for bluegrass.
  12. Benedetti's own playing?
  13. Must admit that I didn't like it very much. The electric stuff was not my cup of jazz, so to speak, and didn't care much for the rest. To each their own
  14. Yep, for €50.55 or about $67.50 plus shipping. There's also one on Amazon France for €40 or about $53.50 plus shipping. It's a bit more than the original poster has in mind
  15. I'm sure Mr Uehlinger will reissue it sooner or later, like he always does with many hatwhatever discs.
  16. I've searched a zillion European and North American stores, but couldn't find it. As you probably know it's sold out according to the HatHut site.
  17. He was born on August 13, 1921 and is still with us at age 90. Ace (U.K.) released 2 excellent CDs with his late 1940s/early 1950s Modern recordings: Amazon, Amazon U.K.
  18. It's not tons of space in all of Joe's solos, but I seem to remember he pepper's a fair number of his solos with space here and there (for longer than you might have been expecting) amid what is otherwise (arguably) a flurry of notes. Or at least that's how I remember hearing Joe's playing. But, he's definitely not a "minimalistic" continuously. Although, come to think of it, he is rather fond of taking a small cell and repeating it over and over in a sort of "minimalistic" way -- so I think he fits in that regard too (in the "classical music" sense/definition of Minimalism). "he pepper's"? Sorry, couldn't resist...
  19. You forgot to mention that this is for U.S. residents only.
  20. Thanks for clearing that up. I hadn't checked Bruyninckx. Sorry for the confusion, Mark.
  21. You're right, though there also seems to a Black & Blue LP called Epistrophy. I believe the Muse album (MR 5002) hasn't been released on CD either. [edit] The album Mark is looking for seems to be a twofer with 2 original albums combined: Now's the Time from 1972 and Epistrophy from 1981.
  22. As far as I know this Black & Blue album was never released on CD.
  23. A Love Supreme is an impulse! album, not a Blue Note.
  24. Too rich for my blood... While it was fun to see them play (in more than one way) in the early days, I was never really a big fan.
