  1. You forgot to edit the thread title
  2. When I was a moderator I also warned aloc not to post articles in full, yet he continued to do so. Whether it seems trivial or not is not the point, rules are rules and they're there for a reason. When rule violations cause problems, it is Jim who bears the brunt, not the offender.
  3. As mentioned in Marcello's post the Cadet reissue was edited, though I don't know in what way.
  4. Scheduled release date is now February 2012.
  5. Very sad, he was truly one of the greats.
  6. Very sad news. He would have been 82 on December 19.
  7. ahhhh crap. I don't have it. I like the players on it, but has anyone heard it? Been diggin' it? Nothing spectacular, but nice. It's always good to hear Cohn and Kamuca.
  8. This is a great set. Recommended!
  9. I guess it's not gonna happen...
  10. I'll decide whether or not to live with it, if you don't mind. I don't need orders from you. I did not send this message to you. Whatever. Say hello to the others on my ignore list. You really want to block my posts because of an imagined insult? No, your "live with it" remark was just the last straw. Anyway, I'm not going to discuss that here.

  13. do you have more biographical informations about trumpeter DON FERRARA? Had he own bands? He never made any recordings as a leader and I don't think he led any bands.
  14. Joe Morello Pete Rugolo Russ Garcia Eddie Marshall
  15. As far as I know Dave Burns died in November 2009.
  16. I agree, a rotten company with very bad product. I had a few Trip LPs back in the 1970s and they were awful, full of air bubbles, scratches and other anomalies.
  17. Garon wrote the notes to the Documents, so I guess it'll be the same as in his biog - 'unknown'. FYI the man behind the username 'Sam Hopkins' on that discussion is blues researcher Alan Balfour, who left the forum a few years ago... Yep, he left in September 2005 with the line "OK I know when I'm beating my head against a brick wall"
  18. It's P.D. It is now...
  19. Well, that's not quite what I think of this set. Some of the individual sessions are spread over two discs in the set and I'd rather have them on one disc as issued on Original Jazz Classics (except for the Five Spot sessions, of course), and I don't like the Caribe date at all, I think it's far below par compared to the other sessions. I'm not too fond of the Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis date either, it's indifferent at best, and the European sessions suffer from mediocre sidemen.
  20. Took me a beat to get it, but Same here; very funny
  21. It may have been one of the moderators who did that that would of been kind of a lame thing to do, though... I totally disagree. I think everyone, but especially the native English speakers here, should try to use correct English which can be understood by all, including those whose first language isn't English and may have trouble understanding mangled English.
  22. It may have been one of the moderators who did that
  23. Pity we don't have a time machine to go back to the Five Spot on that date and retune that awful sounding piano...
  24. According to the Popmarket site the Bernstein is included in the 19CD-set. These are the 19 CDs in the set: ● Brubeck Time ● Jazz Impressions of the U.S.A. ● Jazz Impressions of Eurasia ● Dave Digs Disney ● Gone with the Wind ● Time Out! ● Southern Scene ● Bernstein Plays Brubeck Plays Bernstein ● Time Further Out ● Countdown: Time in Outer Space ● Bossa Nova U.S.A. ● Brandenburg Gate: Revisited ● Time Changes ● Jazz Impressions of Japan ● Jazz Impressions of New York ● Angel Eyes ● My Favorite Things ● Time In ● Plays Cole Porter - Anything Goes!
