  1. See you on the 2012 MLB Season thread ------------------------------------------------------------ They should have fired Francona for the continuous spitting Seriously, maybe it's because I'm European, but I find that habit disgusting. Is it part of the folklore?? For me it takes away a lot of fun when watching MLB games on cable TV here.
  2. Guy, Where was this previously listed as a Brew Moore date?
  3. Well, the title says it all. Does anybody know? Is it Black Lion?
  4. Yep, I realized that and edited my post while you were posting this.
  5. The title of the Prestige/Swingville album was Stasch. As far as I know it was never reissued on CD. Correction: it was part of the Coleman Hawkins CD Bean and the Boys.
  6. I am looking for a reasonably priced copy in excellent or better condition of this CD: John Handy - New View - Koch Jazz 7811 PayPal is my only payment option. Please PM me if you're selling one or know where I can get one. Thanks.

  8. Now that you mention MG, any idea what happened to him? He's been absent from this forum for almost a year now; he disappeared when I was still a moderator, but I have no idea why he's no longer here. By the way, Weizen is also a moderator, but I don't know if he's still active.. I have emailed The Magnificent Goldberg from time to time. He is fine. He had some family matters which took up a lot of time, when he left the board. Now he says that he may return to the board at some point, but is a little bit reluctant because of the large time commitment. I suggested that he read and post on fewer threads. I wish that he would come back here. Well, he can always resign as a moderator, it'll reduce the commitment and lessen the stress considerably (I speak from experience )

  10. Bootleg packaging is always minimal...
  11. Funny how a simple "LF" thread can turn into a discussion about reissues. Anyway, I got a copy, so the purpose of the thread didn't get snowed under
  12. Thanks. I know the Fresh Sound release has the complete Clarke-Wilkins date, but I already have Telefunken Blues on a Savoy CD and the Fresh Sound CD is relatively expensive, even in Europe, and I want to avoid Fresh Sound releases as much as possible
  13. Thanks, but that is indeed a bit too pricey for me.
  14. Mike, Tried to PM you, but your mailbox seems to be full. Sent you an e-mail instead.
  15. Thanks Guy, but I won't buy Proper sets. Still looking
  16. I am looking for a reasonably priced copy in excellent or better condition of this CD: Kenny Clarke-Ernie Wilkins Septet - Savoy 222 PayPal is my only payment option. Please PM me if you're selling one or know where I can get one. Thanks.
  17. Couldn't agree more.
  18. The link was posted almost 4 months ago, so I guess it's expired.
  19. Actually it will be out next Tuesday, Sept. 20th. If you pre-ordered from Amazon it should be at your door that day. As noted above, "Jazz_Thrash" is in Spain. The set will be released in Europe on September 26.
  20. Pete I have another question. Do you mean they go ahead and charge you this far in advance to shipping the item? Your credit card is not charged by Amazon until the order ships.
  21. Isn't it the other way 'round, with Bennie Maupin on Bitches Brew sounding like the bass clarinet at 7:37 into the first movement of Mahler 9 and 'Round Midnight sounding like the opening of Prélude à l'après-midi d'une faune
  22. You'd need a spiritual séance, he died in 1980
  23. Who knows who may have been given a dub of that session decades ago and allowed it to be circulated now? Maybe one of those involved in the session? Yep, that could have been the case, hadn't thought of that.
