  1. Whilst you wait, though, Recital (Paris) 1971 and Trio & Duet have just been reissued!
  2. Well, it's listed as forthcoming "Late February-- Delayed" on Dusty Groove. Their Hat pre-listings are always correct-- I'm guessing they have direct contact with Uehlinger. So I think it is safe to say that it's in the next batch.
  3. aka THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS WITH HERBIE HANCOCK
  4. Mann? He did a whole record on bass clarinet.
  5. Andre Jaume! Clifford mentioned him, but Josh Sinton's bcl solos in Nate Wooley's group are outrageously good and original.
  6. I have a dub from a library CD. It's great. Need to track down a copy.
  7. I will read and maybe expound later, but having just watched the film, I find the taste level of the proceedings to be true to the milieu. Jazz school is a whole different beast than the critical establishment and whatever it is we have going on over here. IRL, that kid probably would want to be Buddy Rich and not Max Roach. I found the film to be rather ambiguous re: Andrew. I didn't feel like anything he thinks, feels, does or desires should be perceived by the viewer as the best course of action.
  8. I always receive my packages from Brookline in a timely and proper fashion.
  9. Ditto. The resurgence of this group since 2010-- every record they made together save Night Fire has been re-released since then-- has been a joy. Thanks so J. Horowich for kicking it off. I heard this group for the first time when the Mosaic came out and following the thread has been a major musical highlight of the last 5 years. This is some of my very favorite music.
  10. Placed my order this weekend. Looking forward to getting this very long awaited disc.
  11. I really dug what I heard. Wish there was a CD.
  12. .....K In related news, all remaining Blockbuster Video locations will now open at 9AM.
  13. Personally I'd pass.
  14. Follow it up with Tribute To Masayuki Takayanagi?
  15. Reading a very, very good critical analysis of the Lacy/Aebi/Rzewski albums by Josh Sinton was a stark, almost harrowing, reminder of just how little of this music from the last 45 years has been dealt with on any substantive level. It's hard not to be militant about it sometimes.
  16. Haven't yet felt compelled to spin it a second time but it's thoroughly engrossing and, I think, ACTUALLY pushes the definition of what jazz is and can be.
  17. Also listed are upcoming CDs by Stephen Crump/Mary Halvorson, Open Loose, and Roy Campbell tribute by Oliver Lake and William Parker.
  18. Until 2/26. Promo code is HEART. Free shipping on orders $25+ I grabbed 3 from the FMP box set for about $14 a pop: -Schweizer/Carl/Moholo - Messer und... -Schlippenbach Quartett - At Quartier Latin -Die Like A Dog - Close Up Others may have different stories, but in my experience, Deep Discount is a much more reliable seller than Import CDs. I've never had an issue buying from them. (Of course, don't bother with anything on 'Back Order')
  19. Not to me. The price was just under $40. I'd rather invest "full price" in the full product.
  20. here's hoping you've hit the target here's hoping you've hit the target Swing and a miss. It's only 2 CDs. Return submitted. So it goes...
  21. New Schlippenbach Trio ("Features") on Intakt.
  22. They will be out on CD. These are just RSD samplers for people who light money on fire.
  23. Awesome.

    Steve Lacy

It's called Blossoms. Can't find the website. Thanks, I found information about the single disc on the Senators site. Maybe the box set never came into fruition. I thought I saw a photo of it once, but perhaps I made that up.
