  1. Which ramsey lewis hosted. Funny, it was on a smooth jazz station..
  2. This used to be a Sunday night radio thing here in NY.
  3. I wonder how easy your math courses were when you were a youngin'.
  4. I find that when they do originals it's really tight, and groovin. The little more corny side of them comes when they do covers. (JUST BARELY) The Christmas album, In The Christmas Spirit was just recorded too low. Other than that, my favorite non jazz band. Melting Pot, awesome! Their version of Something, beats the Beatles' version ANY DAY OF THE WEEK! Their whole bag is great. Absolutely love them. Steve Cropper, blues virtuoso! Al Jackson, tightest non show drummer in the world, rather painful death. I wonder what Jimmy Smith thought of Booker.
  5. Just that word along with, as I said, "You stupid bitch," are the two things I hear most, so it was un-settling.
  6. Allright, they're two biggest hits. What do you think of them as musicians and a band?
  7. Thoughts? Fav tracks?
  8. Yes we do! One of my favorites! I remember a while ago on the bus on a trip for the school band, I was listening to Cal Tjader. Try to explain to 100 kids that you're listening to Afro Cuban music!
  9. Harold Land, the folk songs album looks really interesting!
  10. Almost as, "You little bitch!"
  11. How many times have I heard that word?!?!
  12. I thought this was a thread about Spin City, the tv show. Much to my, dissapointing, surprise..
  13. Vince Guaraldi Trio, Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus.
  14. Who was speaking of hummers.
  15. Is it hoping too much, to think that they will be soon? Or at all?
  16. Man I wish George Braith's Two Souls In One would be done by Gelder. The record doesn't sound as good as it could.
  17. Your best bet is no. I can't locate the cd.
  18. I haven't met an alternate take I like. Whenever I hear bonus tracks, I always know why they picked the one they did to be the master. Or at least think it. Or maybe I just been used to the master take, automatically, the alternate take is un-superior to the master take.
  19. They're reminding me of the ramsey lewis trio as I play The Sounds play Jazz on Broadway.
  20. This was the case a lot with Ramsey Lewis in the late 50s and early 60s with his trio. But only, he was the reason they would get out of tune.
  21. Oh I love that Here We Come cover. Some Amazon reviewer was real pissed that was a Japenese reissue.
  22. This is the non BN album that I got today. It's of a diff. label though.
  23. You didn't ask me, but I'd say Black Orchid and Moods.
