Kenny Barron SUNSET TO DAWN (Muse, white-label promo copy)

The Rockies are damn-near unstoppable. Another sweep! If I was either the Indians or the Sox, I'd be just a little concerned. Whoa!

It has the same front cover (essentially) as the original Riverside album Blue Soul---don't be fooled! But DO get Blue Soul. Has a lot of the same qualities as A Sure Thing. It's more of a sure thing than A Sure Thing! (And I'm sure about that.) Oh, sure......

Let's Make Sure Organissimo (the group) Never Works Again

I hate Stanley Crouch because he's the worst goddamned jazz critic on the planet, and his wife looks like she'd rather be married to a horned-toad. On top of that, his son is addicted to MAD magazine and sleeps with his purple Prince doll. And his daughter smells like his son. Even worse is the club I played at last week, Chez Stadium. The owner is full of himself, and at 350 lbs, that's quite an accomplishment and the bathrooms smell like his son. The waitresses all used to work at this brothel firm called Dewey, Bendham, and Howe and so the service is about as efficient as the Rangers starting pitching. I'd rather play in a pigpen; at least there, the food is only three days old. At least than I might get a spellchecker, because then I would know that I should've used THEN instead of THAN and maybe have time to actually get a life, instead of playing spellchecker to everyone's grammar once in a while. Last summer we played at the Arlington TX Jazz Festival. It was about as exciting an event as reading one of GoodSpeak's posts, because the director, ol' what's-his-name, always books Styx as the opening act. Stupid director, she should book Allen Lowe and his Trane'd Devlin Sousaphone Octet. Everyone knows that Allen Lowe is almost as big an asshole as Big Al. At least that's what HE tells everyone. In conclusion, I am sick of the whole jazz world, and mostly because of Osama Bin Laden, who knows as much about music as a pile of Edsels. Next time I see him, I am going to take a promenade on his head and a doe-si-doe on his leg. Maybe that will teach him to keep his rat-infested harem out of my record collection, especially my limited edition Aldo Nova white-label autographed promo debut LP, which I swiped from Uncle Skid one night while he was out hunting the elusive lost JOHN Curulewski solo album. [Edited for fear of having my charter membership in the Styx Fans For Life Club revoked] -
I don't know about y'all, but my money's on New England. Buffalo exposed some serious flaws in Dallas overall game plan. It's New England's game to lose. Just ONCE I'd like to be right about something sportswise that DIDN'T affect my teams negatively. Last time I was right about something like this, the Mavs were swept by the Warriors in the first round. I could go ahead and predict the demise of the Stars, but that would be too easy. Face it, Guys. Dallas got whooped up on and by a team who actually faces real competition. The Ca'boyz are a paper lion. I wish you actually had something to contribute to a thread besides insults and arrogance.

Jon Daniels' has got to be feeling pretty good about himself right now..... unless, of course, he's trying to re-sign the guy right now. Which wouldn't surprise me.

Count me as another fan of A SURE THING. Mitchell seemed to flourish in these kind of settings!

Oh, Dan..... I'm not sure I can be more apologetic about Gagne. I just turned on the game, just as Trot Nixon knocked in the go-ahead run, and the announcers just said that run was charged to Gagne. And now Cabrera just scored, another Gagne run. Yikes!

Congrats to Manny on his historic homer!

The fade-out of "Black Cow" is two minutes of sheer bliss for me. Not that big a fan of "classic" Dan; I've been enjoying and actually prefer Two Against Nature, Everything Must Go, and Fagen's Morph the Cat. For me, Steely Dan's music makes me feel like I'm in NYC, despite the fact that I've never been there.

No, he should not be fired. He should be told that the team is letting him go and allow Joe to make it look like he's resigning/retiring. I've always liked Torre and held him in the highest regard, even though he does manage the team of the evil empire. However, if he balks at that proposal, then all bets are off. What I'm trying to say is, Torre shouldn't come back, but NY would do well to let Joe walk out on his own terms.

I wasn't a fan of T.O.'s signing, neither were most Cowboy fans, in particular others on this board - if you do a search you'll see that. I know he was a Niners pick, give me some credit. I also know he wears out his welcome sooner or later - he is a jackass. But I think he's made a huge effort to work WITH Tony Romo this year, whereas he didn't with Garcia in San Fran, or Donovan in Philly. He's contributing to the team in a positive manner. Either way, your Mr. "You Heard it Here First" isn't a "first" as you declared while patting yourself on the back. But you go right ahead thinking you know something nobody else knows. People have been expecting him to screw up from the day Jerry Jones signed him. His true character will show once the Boys rack up their first L. Sure he's being gracious now: he's on a team that's 5-0. Let's check back five weeks from now, see what the Boys record is, and see what his attitude is. I always hate to admit when Goody's right, but I think he's on the money with this one.

The game should never have come down to that play to begin with. Romo was only one of many reasons the Boys lost that game. And they deserved to lose it, too. You'll get no argument from me on this one.
-
No he won't. Tank Johnson will do that. You read THAT here first. And yes, I know you're an SF Giants fan. Give me SOME credit. Sheesh

No! Or, to quote the immortal Daffy Duck, "It's mine, y'unnerstand? Mine, all mine! Get back in there! Down! Down! Down! Go! Go! Go! Mine! Mine! Mine! OOOOOOHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!"
