I've got a Sandisk 512MB player. I'm trying to load a couple of Bill Evans albums onto it. During playback, I notice that instead of playing the songs in album-order, it plays the songs in numerical order (i.e. Track 1 of the first album; track 1 of the second album; so on and so forth). I've tried saving the tracks on a Playlist thru both RealPlayer and MusicMatch (don't get me started on that useless waste of computer memory), but the end result is still the same: the songs are still played in numerical order. Does anyone know how to remedy this? Thanks in advance.

Crud! Well, it was nice while it lasted!

My girls love that, too ... have you seen the actual Puffy show (Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi)? Very ... interesting. ← Uh huh... Pink Lady for a new generation. Where's Jeff?

I may still pull the trigger yet again, despite the wait. Goin' thru a real OJC jones right now (especially Riverside discs)!

Spinning The Creeper from set #3185, shipped Friday, arrived today. Now THAT'S service!!! -
I believe both juries did their job. Although I think both OJ and Jacko are guilty of the crimes, let's face it, reasonable doubt was raised in both trials. As funny as it sounds, the glove didn't fit, so they had to acquit. And this kids parents did have a long history of con jobs and lawsuits. ← You are correct; in both cases, it seems like the DA went into it thinking they had a slam-dunk case and ended up shooting themselves in the foot. In the end, the real victim here is the kid. Hell, he probably won't even get a book deal for all of his suffering. BTW, was anyone else nauseated by the whole press-conference with the jurors? Talk about a media love-fest; it was the aural equivalent of reading an article in People magazine.

Wow, I didn't think it possible to find a jury even more clueless than the OJ jury.... but they found 'em. Jacko is a fucking monster. Literally and figuratively. What really scares me is that there are people out there who will willingly let their children spend time with Jacko, without a second thought, because they will see this trial as evidence of his innocence. Unfuckingbelievable.

This thread has inspired me to look for some prime Chet, and I don't know where to start. Seems like that Pacific Jazz Prince of Cool box might be a nice place to start, but with a whole disc devoted to vocals, I'm afraid that I'd only listen to two of the three discs. It looks like a lot of his Pacific Jazz catalog is in print, with the following being available cheaply thru yourmusic.com: SEXTET ENSEMBLE BIG BAND PLAYS AND SINGS Any opinions on those? I was also thinking about getting some of his Riverside work, uneven as it is. However, Fantasy has what looks like a nice compilation of his Riverside imaginatively titled THE BEST OF CHET BAKER. Well, it has "If You Could See Me Now," one of my favorite Baker ballads. Then there's those three live CDs with George Coleman. Those look like a good deal. The one vocal of his that I really enjoy is "Fair Weather" from the ROUND MIDNIGHT soundtrack. That came out in the mid-80s; are there any other recordings of his that feature that kind of vocalizing?

And Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla! Blossom Dearie's singing "Unpack Your Adjectives!" Cool! Never knew that! My son and I performed that song at a talent show years back, he sang while I played guitar. Great memory, that one!

It's too hot outside to think about anything constructive! Whattya think the high's gonna be today, Jim? At least there's a nice breeze where I'm sitting!

NO kidding! I'm actually kinda thankful that a couple items were cancelled from my order; freed up some necessary dollars to help pay for the now-OOP Byrd/Adams set! Good deal finder, you are! [insert Yoda smilie here]

It's definitely da shit!

I guess I don't understand why some items couldn't just be back-ordered instead of being cancelled outright. I mean, I ordered Stan Getz with Cal Tjader and The Magic Sound of Tadd Dameron; both items were cancelled from my order, but they now have them "in stock."

Oh, it was, as many others here will tell you! -
All the griping from the Mavs fans about their play against the Suns, and in the end it still wouldn't've mattered: it'd still be a Spurs-Pistons finals, even if the Mavs had beat the Suns way back when!

I know what you mean; I still get asked where my ten-gallon hat is, or do I own a horse, or if I own an oil well, etc etc etc. It's like, "We're not all J.R. Ewing!"

Any thoughts on the Riverside albums?

YES! YES! YES! My son and I are excited about this one! -
Cool! They're doing pretty well right now, so I hope they post a W for ya! I like it that Buddy Bell is their manager now. He's a good guy, and was my hero when he played for the Rangers (played third base, as did I). In fact, one of his kids was in the same Little League as I was one year. Unfortunately for him, our team dominated that year. But it was still cool, got to meet him and all! Go Royals! (for BB, Buddy & Brandon)

Lakers... Spurs all the way. Should be quick!

Well, you have the natural born Texans (the folks who've been here for generations), the transplanted Texans (folks who were born elsewhere, but moved here for one reason or another, and assimilated the accent), and those who are the children of the transplants. I'm in the last category, my folks are in the second. They're originally from Chicago, but they've been here for the last 40 years; they don't say "y'all" or anything like that, but they also don't sound like they're from Chicago. I say "y'all" and everything else, but my voice also has a slight Chicago tinge to it, especially whenever I say "sahcks" or "lahbster." However, no one in our family orders a "pop" anymore!

I'm looking forward to this for the lineup: a rhythm guitar in place of a piano. That, and hearing the song that inspired the Ventures, one of my all-time favorite rock bands!
