  1. There are at least four CDs I want to check out from this wonderful BFT: Blacktronic Science Chunky Pecan Pie Make Me Rainbows Ethnomusicology Vol. 1. Yes oh YES y'all!!!
  2. And who is this "WE" that they keep referring to?
  3. Which contains the immortal line: Someone’s always playing corporation games Who cares? They’re always changing corporation names As one of my favorite books asks, “Sound like anyone you know, Grace?”
  4. That asshole deserves to be on the Yankees. No one around here (Ranger fan or otherwise) misses him for a second. I've always hated the Yankees, but never really cared much for the Red Sox either. Until last night. GO RED SOX!!!!
  5. Chrissie Hynde admitted in a radio interview that she had no problem with Rush using her song, even though she disagreed with him on practically everything. Apparently, everything was done legally and she’s getting paid for the use of the song. I’m always curious to find out how many people bought the Learning to Crawl album after hearing the song on the Rush show? I think that may have been part of Hynde’s strategy all along.
  6. All of 'em. Not a bad one in the bunch, and probably my favorite Sam Rivers record to boot!
  7. How about the Beach Boys? I can’t begin to count how many times “Good Vibrations” and “Fun Fun Fun” have been used to sell something!!! Big agreement for “Everyday People.” Can you imagine the reaction of people 30 years ago if you’d told them that some of their favorite anthems were going to be used in the pursuit of financial gain? Then again, maybe it’s some of those same people who are making these ads in the first place!
  8. That was in-fucking-credible! To outlast the Yanks in two consecutive marathon games like that....... I've never seen the Yanks looked so shell-shocked. Ain't it grand? B-)
  9. I could just scream. I used to have this CD. Track #21 is track #3 from THIS disc!!! AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Jim can have this one, too, if he wants it. I can't BELIEVE I ever traded this CD away. And I even got it for my birthday, too! Shows you what an ungrateful rat I am!
  10. Please apologize in case I gave someone credit for a score he doesn't deserve, these times zones get me mixed up!!! I apologize! I gotta take points where I can get ‘em! And anyhow, Jim did post those groovy Guaraldi websites (which are gonna break me along with the rest of this BFT), so he really should get all the credit! And you still haven’t answered my question: Tjader or NOT Tjader? (Whoops! It looks like we were posting at the same time.) I’d use my brain if I had any left, at this point. I’m almost to the point of guessing Guaraldi playing sax on track #4, just to clear things up!
  11. Eric Clapton re-recording "After Midnight" as an ad for Michelob.
  12. You're right Jim, Vince Guaraldi is the piansit appearing on disc 2 three times, on the tracks you listed. Oh sure, give JIM the credit for something I discovered a few posts before HE did!!! Well, I think it was before him: the difference in time zones may have made it LOOK like he discovered it before I did, but in fact I made this discovery three weeks ago, whereas HIS discovery actually won’t happen until Tuesday, November 16. Like I said, because of the different time zones, it just APPEARS that he discovered it before me! Unless of course I’m wrong, in which case he got it first, and I was just merely following suit! (He always was a better dresser than me!)
  13. Was I right about this?
  14. WAAIIITTTT a second!!!! Mike's trying to trick us here, I betcha: the OTHER mystery player on three tracks is Cal Tjader, but on ONE track he's playing DRUMS!!!! I'm gonna guess that ONE of these tracks is probably from that Brubeck Octet record which I don't own, but lists Tjader on drums. So, WHICH IS IT????????? AIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
  15. DRAT! I wish I'd remembered to bring those discs home with me from work. Now I'm gonna go apeshit all weekend wondering what #12 sounds like?
  16. HOLY SH...... That's what I thought, too! I just couldn't bring myself to admit it. Mike is definitely one sick puppy!
  17. Holy sh... have two beers. Heck, after reading that, I'm gonna have a beer so I can have something to cry in. FWIW, you and your wife are DEFINITELY in my prayers tonight.
  18. Well, I hope it's better than the clips indicate.
  19. My username = Dead Bully Hob-nobba

Drunken Gangsta Head Cracka Fool White Mofo Shrinky Nutz Ugly Hung Daddy Heavy Nutz da Chinaman Old Hoopti Rida Green Egg Shrinky Nutz Cold Stank Ho Dead Bully Killa Jimbo da Cop Killa Black Ass Grabba
  21. Joe, hang in there, brother. A house is nothing compared with the one you love. I'm prayin' & pullin' for you & your wife!
  22. In all seriousness, I truly appreciate y'alls concern for me & my family. It means a lot, knowing I can come in here & rant & know you cats are pullin' for us. Thanks!
  23. ....as well as his hair! (P'doom, KSSHHH!!!!)
  24. Well, truth be told, I was actually showing the kid how to pogo in the attic, when I fell through the ceiling, bringing down a light fixture in the process, which set the mantle ablaze. My son laughed so hard he fell through the ceiling as well, and that's how he got the bump on his head. (Many MANY inside chokes.... er, jokes there!) So you saw the time of my posts then?
