  1. AWWWWW!!! Whatta cutie! Congratulations, Cary!
  2. Well, looks like the wait for the annual Rangers free-fall is finally over, after having dropped three in a row to the A's.... ah well, it was fun while it lasted.
  3. And why the hell does he think he's old?
  4. Habby belated birthday, Lon!
  5. Happy birthday, Shawn! For your birthday, I'll buy another one of your Conns!
  6. You will like this one as much as the Tjader CDs, Al - it includes the only session with Mongo Santamaria, Willie Bobo, and Armando Peraza in one band! Yes, I meant to PM you about this. I listened to it on Rhapsody and what a very cool surprise! It really does sound like the best album Cal Tjader never made!
  7. List updated. Just need to hear from Joe and Hot Ptah and we're good to go until next April. Mike, I hope you don't mind my moving you up to February; I have a reason for wanting March.
  8. Do whatever you have to do to get the Sly & The Family Stone Woodstock set. Now THAT is a ferocious performance! Helluva party record, right up there with the Greatest Hits album. For someone like me who wasn't there (or even born yet), it's hard to believe they were rockin' this hard at 3:00 in the morning!!! Yes, getting Stand without the extras that are previously available is a bit of a rip, but the Woodstock disc makes this worth the price of admission alone!
  9. Cool. Thanks! Are you going to eBay the Eldridge?
  10. Would someone PLEASE beat the blankety-blank mother-blanking blank-damned blank-hole bnlakety-wipe i-don't-care-how-good-they-are-they're-BLANKING-me-off blanking LA Angels????

  12. Well, as you can tell, I let July slip by without a BFT, and August is currently empty. Additionally, I've had one member ask to be removed from the list and I've added Durium & jeffcrom to the list, so what you see above is how the list looks at this moment. Thom, if your offer is still open and you'd like to jump in for August, it would be appreciated. As always, I'm all for helping with the usual distribution. However, with participation seriously lagging, I am once again asking for response from members on the current list: PLEASE REPLY TO THIS POST WITHIN THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. Whoever has not posted to this reply by Sunday, August 9 will be removed from the list and names after that will move up a month. Thanks, as always, and feel free to sign up again!
  13. Well, due to my inactivity around here, I've seriously dropped the ball as BFT organizer. I never contacted EKE BBB and dmitry for their respective runs. Allow me to run the "Calling All BFTers" thread again, and then I'll put you on the list.
  14. Nice find! That's a really good one. Indeed, nice catch! And I thought finding my copy for $25 was a steal! Well tonight was my lucky night as I found "This is Tal Farlow" and "Art Farmer-Benny Golson Jazztet Here and Now" both for $18!!! You mean a total of $18 or $18 each? Thinking back, I believe I got Impression Of A Patch Of Blue for $12, if memory serves. $18 for both!!!!!!!!!! $10 for the Farlow and $8 for the Jazztet! I yelled out NO WAY! in the store! HA! I did the same thing when I found the Dickerson!
  15. What's the eBay link?
  16. Found Walt Dickerson's IMPRESSIONS OF A PATCH OF BLUE last month at a FYE in Virginia for $7.
  17. Hey, whatta fantastic idea!!!
  18. Thank you Victor Martinez!!!!
  19. Yes they are! Happy birthday, Dick! (See the notes to Terry Gibbs Dream Band, Volume 5)
  20. Okay. The price for the Eldridge set has one too many zeroes.
  21. Is that the same album as Mercury MG 36103? It's got the same cover, but the title on my LP doesn't say anything about a quartet.
  22. Yes yes, y'all!!! EDIT: Whoops! Already posted about this album. Oh well... it's that good!
  23. Glad I'm not the only one!
  24. Anything with Blakey And a special nod to the album CEDAR!!!
  25. For the metroplexians: There's a place called CD Addict at the intersection of Josey and the President George Bush Turnpike (yes, that's what it's called). When I was in there on Thursday, they had the following K2's: Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet Relaxin' with the Miles Davis Quintet Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quintet Thelonious Monk Trio Thelonious Monk & Sonny Rollins Thelonious Monk with John Coltrane Wes Montgomery - Full House I think they had some others, but I'm going from memory here. Happy hunting!
