  1. France has win the WC in 1998 and the European Championship in 2000. They WILL BE in the FIRST HAT. They have also qualified directly (meaning that they WIN their qualifiying pool). What is not what Spain has done. Plus Spain has no record in WC. England has a good team but always short memory. Before every competition, they put themselves in the favorite but we are still waiting that they win something since 1966. I think that our dear american/australian soccer's fan see their respective teams much bigger that they really are. I think also than France could wash up clean both of them with or without ZIDANE and the older players any day, really. I like to forget about 1998 (when the US team was in disarray, under a different coach). It looks like you'd like to forget the most recent World Cup (btw, that was in 2002 ), when Spain, England, and the US all reached the quarterfinals (so did Senegal, come to think of it). That's it, don't be too bold. All in fun, of course. I don't know any more than you do.

  10. Jim, could you put your hand next to those? I can't tell if they're real eggs, candy-coated chocloate-covered malted crunch mini eggs, or jelly beans (please tell me there's chocolate involved ) GREEN is up to 2 votes!!

  15. Thanks Jim. Was it normal for me to get that error message? I thought some types of editing were possible for topic starters... but I don't think I've ever tried it (not on a poll, and not even on a regular topic).
  16. I count myself very lucky to have seen him in action several times when he was playing in the NASL. He may have been past his prime, but he still did some wonderful things (some of the most incredible passes I ever saw, and an astounding goal he scored in a playoff game where he went around and through about seven defenders- including the keeper- before calmly walking the ball into the net). RIP Bestie.
  17. Still digging the green (technically, lime sherbet & pistachio) here. I thought I'd be able add it to the poll choices, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I selected "moderation options", and got an error message that I wasn't allowed to do it ("You do not have permission to carry out that function"). The only other option I saw was "delete this topic"... would selecting that get me into a menu of editing options?

  20. Yeah! Pistachio, baby! Beats the blue and the lavender... it may even challenge for #1, depending on my mood. Purple and green is another weird combination that works for me. All in all, some nice options. Now if we could only free ourselves from this pastel hell.
  21. THE burning question of the day, and frankly, one of the most important issues of our time. The great thing is, we don't have to agree on this (which reminds me of the old Yakov Smirnoff line... which... was never all that funny, so I'll skip it). I'm currently going with peach (would prefer a bit of a brigher orange, but what are ya gonna do). I've always liked purple and orange together, and this is the closest thing to that. I like the contrast between the peach and the purple. The blue is okay, but I find it a bit distracting, and not really worthy of the mood established by the Organissimo emblem. The lavender skin is... well... it's just too much lavender. Having said all that, I'll probably be experimenting at least once per visit, at least for a month or so...

  23. I never really liked using cassettes, and so I never collected a great number of them (I don't think I own one pre-recorded one). I did end up with a small collection, though. Most of the important ones (LP's not available on CD, live recordings, etc) I've already transferred to MiniDiscs or CDR's. I haven't gotten around to getting rid of the tapes yet, only because they don't take up that much space.
  24. Jim, there's no way Morrison's 'stache can be compared to peach-fuzz... it's nowhere near that thick. Well, I'm glad I got to watch the final tonight, even though Few's boys lost to UConn. It provided me an escape from the crushing defeat the Spurs handed the Warriors tonight. I agree, btw, Izzo's got a pretty nice team there. I believe they handled Arizona earlier tonight in the consolation game (not that Arizona looks very good right now). I also saw a little bit of UCLA's loss to Memphis in the NIT. The Bruins continue to look ragged, and sometimes lost... not sure how they're ranked 16th in the nation.
  25. Feel free to let me know if this topic already exists for the new season... I didn't see one. Well, after watching Gonzaga's 3 OT win over Michigan State last night in the Maui Invitational, I thought it was time to start paying attention to the college game. THAT was a HELL of a basketball game, considering it's only November. I thought I was watching a final four game (except for the puny crowd in the puny gym ). The nightcap (Arizona/UConn) was pretty entertaining too, though mostly for watching Lute Olson as the game wore on and the frustrations build (I like Lute, BTW, but the drama in his expressions was riveting ). So, who do you guys like? I used to follow Stanford, but they appear to be in a sharp decline, and I prefer not to follow crappy teams. Time will tell, I guess. I've also followed Oregon for several years, thanks to an older brother who's an alum living up there. I'm also a 'Zags fan- they're always good and fun to watch. I don't really have any other favorite teams, but I love the college game and always go nuts come March. Take it away...
