  1. Re Pistons/Warriors- It was a fun game to watch. The W's played a very solid game for three quarters. We led after each of the first three breaks, by virtue of some good team ball and (finally) some impressive shooting from the floor (I forget what our FT% was, but it couldn't have been good, even if it was good ). In the 4th, Davis, JRich and Fisher went more into the one-on-one mode, trying to answer each bucket by Billups and Hamilton (and Prince). The "I can do that too" mentality, instead of moving the ball around and keeping our flow going. Davis and JRich can pull that off much of the time, but Fisher forced up a couple of bad shots and also turned the ball over once during a stretch where the momentum totally reversed. Billups just killed us down the stretch. Detroit is a better team (duh ), but I think we probably should have taken them that night.

  5. Yes. Progressive Piano (Norgran 1022), a 12" LP circa 1954, was reissued in 1956 as The Modernity of Kenny Drew (Norgran 1066), and later on Verve (8156), in 1957. Ideation (Norgran 29) was a 10" LP (1954).

  9. I think they had to put it down. Too bad. I've always said, it's not the piano, it's the owner. Pianos aren't born agressive.

  13. I'd rather get Brazil in group play where a loss doesn't send you packing. I know what you're saying, facing Brazil any time after the first round could be fatal, but still, I don't think it's very comforting to be staring at the likelihood of a sure loss in the group stage. You may never get to the second round at all as a result, unless you get two wins against the other two opponents (a win and a draw can be iffy). I'd rather lose in round two than not get to round two. At any rate, I'll be pulling for Australia to advance!

  15. B (although T&T aren't going to scare anybody), C, and what about E? 3 in the top 12 FIFA rankings. Ouch. Oh well, nothing left to do but prepare for the challenge. Scott, Australia "not bad" in F? ?? I don't know... getting Brazil is bad enough, but two others in the top 20? All these new African participants are going to cause a lot of uncertainty... at least we can observe the African Nations Cup in January.
