Re question #2, I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but I found a few things in the notes to Chet's "Baby Breeze" (the only other session I have Scott on besides "Movin' Wes"). Scott debuted as a pianist at age 11, worked with some name bands as a teen, had a hit as a writer and vocalist with "chain gang", worked as a journalist and a&r man in pop and jazz, taught music, and had a few fights as an amateur boxer.

Steven, Can you give any details (personnel, date, location) regarding the live recording which was released on LP on the Europa Jazz label (LP # 1047)? The only info I have, which I'm unsure about, is that it was from 1966, and George Arvanitas was on piano. The song titles are: one note samba, on green dolphin street, summertime Thanks

What was the question? I don't remember if I ever looked at the answers... did we ever get the answers? (why don't you not answer that ). Great heads up, Al... I need to get the disc out again.

Brownian, remember the sequence that involved that post? It was your post that had been skipped over, which is kind of my point. "Just move on" is cool, but when you're the person who's been glossed over, it isn't such a great feeling. So, just a reminder for everyone to "look back" after they post, to make sure they weren't preceded by someone. It's not that difficult to do. Re rule changes, I was referring to the use of titles other than people (or cartoon characters, or whatever). Baseball parks, towns, universitites... ===== Harold Carmichael Stokely Carmichael Bram Stoker

Thanks Brownie, now I realize I miscounted. It was 23 tracks, 19 of which have been out on the two US CD's. Anybody know if they can squeeze all 23 onto 2 CD's?

Are we changing the rules, or just bending them a bit? BTW, regarding my last post, I was just responding to Harold Z's post (ending with Lauren Bacall), because it was skipped (look back after you post, folks ).

One thing I'm curious about... the Garland will be 2 CD's, but I believe the Japanese version was 3 CD's (? correct me if I'm wrong). I believe there were 22 tracks altogether, and fwiw, 18 of those have already been released on US CD's ("At The Prelude, Vol. 1"; and "Stretching Out"). Just four tracks were "Japan only", afaik. So, I'm wondering what will be included on the new 2 disc set...

The venerable 86,000-seat stadium on the campus of Stanford University, built in 1921 and the site of a number of important events in US sports history (including the annual Shriner's East-West football classic; the US/USSR track meet in 1962, Super Bowl XIX, and several World Cup matches in 1994 and 1999), is being razed to make room for a new facility. A lot of memories for me there... http://www.stanfordstadium.com/ There's a historical image gallery, and even two live webcams showing the status of the demolition...

I believe you're correct, Kenny. I also think he might have misunderstood some of the comments here about the US team (and perhaps the Socceroos, I'm not sure) having their best team ever (not THE best team in the world ). I'm still wondering what everyone else thinks about PLM's attitude about rating the current incarnations of various national teams based upon their past history. History is important, but only to a certain degree, IMO. Oh, and speaking of history, the Palo Alto, California site of several 1994 WC matches (the 84 year old Stanford Stadium) is being torn down starting today. An 86,000 seat stadium built in 1921, and a place I always enjoyed going to since I was a young child. Sorry to see her go...

Brad, I had a feeling you had overlooked PLM's entrance into this thread (he quoted and challenged you initially). I quoted the same comment Kenny did (and reacted to it) before Kenny's last post. Still not sure if he's going to come back and explain himself on that.

Thanks GA. It's actually been years since they sent me anything. Not sure why, unless it was because I was spending thousands of dollars on their CD's in stores instead of ordering from the company. BTW, regarding this track listing mess on "Early Art", I forgot to mention that the track timings on the CD booklet (and on the tray card as scanned above) are wrong. In case it helps anybody in sorting it all out (and in case I made an error regarding the Farmer compositions that I was otherwise unable to cross-check), here are the run times on my CD: 1. 3:58 2. 5:01 3. 4:35 4. 4:08 5. 5:03 6. 3:52 7. 3:59 8. 4:13 9. 4:00 10. 3:36

I received the same catalogue. It should be noted that it is a sale catalogue listing CDs for one to four dollars off, with another 10% off if you order via the internet. It's not a complete list of their current ctalogue. Did you folks ask for that recently? Via e-mail? I was on their mailing list for decades, but I don't get any mailings from them anymore (and they haven't answered any of my e-mail attempts over the last couple of years).
-
Apparently not, Chuck. Here's the actual running order on the CD: 1. Confab in tempo 2. I'll take romance 3. Wisteria 4. Autumn nocturne 5. Soft shoe 6. I've never been in love before 7. I'll walk alone 8. Gone with the wind 9. Alone together 10. Pre amp Edit: BTW, if anybody who has bought this more recently than I (Fantasy sent me what was supposed to have been a corrected version in 1998, so it's been awhile) has a disc that doesn't correspond to the above list, then maybe they've fixed it...

Baron still hasn't found his stroke from beyond the arc, but at least his leg is now allowing him to move around and break down some defenses (and make some DUNKS! Diogu is playing with a lot of confidence, right out of the gate. What an addition he is in the middle. He can make a goddamn FT, too. Their defense continues to look better, and Biedrins is finally starting to wake up (he rebounded like a madman last night against NO/Okla City). And I still think Derek Fisher makes a lot of dumb plays (in fact, Baron has been guilty of that in the last couple of games too), but he has been clutch with the 3's lately (drained 5 in the second half last night). Yeah, 10-6 may not sound that great to most people, but after what WE'VE been through around here... well, you'll have to forgive us for getting all
