If you're referring to the black box sets, yes, sometimes Mosaic recycles serial numbers after a customer turns in a set for credit. I bought the 4-CD Gerry Mulligan set well after it went OOP (it popped up on Last Chance for a brief period) and it came in the low 2000 range. My receipt had a scratched out auto-generated number of 4977 overwritten with the recycled number.

If you look at the top, it says "This Buy It Now listing has ended." You can also tell by clicking on the bid history. Looks like the same person snatched up all three $50 Mosaics. Not a bad haul.

I think eBay craziness also applies to sellers as well as buyers. Check out this amazing steal: Buddy De Franco Mosaic Box Set You would have had to pull the trigger within 15 mins of its listing. He also sold a George Lewis for the same price. Not quite as dramatic, but still .

Sounds like a problem on the server side of the transaction. Couldn't find the software program used to validate your credit card information. If true it wouldn't matter what browser you used.

Agreed. I've already got everything I need. But others may have missed out, especially that Jazztet set which didn't stay on the Last Chance page for long.

Just pulled the trigger on the Johnny Smith Mosaic set. I've been talking about getting this for a while, but couldn't pass up the free shipping offer that ends Monday.

Got a shipping notice today, plus I noticed Newbury raised its price to $39.99.

So did I. Amazon didn't have any music samples, which is usually my modus operandi, but for 11 bucks it's hard to go wrong.

Really crazy! That slice on the box spine looks bad! This CD set usually sells in the $600 range. I really want to find this set - at a reasonable price! $600 would be the high end of the range on eBay. I've seen mint ones go for as little as $350. One just sold a week ago for $380.

Well, I still have that massive Christmas bonus to spend ($150, yea baby!), and all my wife gave me for Christmas was a Starbucks mug. So I think I'm due. Now if the house and cars would just cooperate and quit crapping out, I could splurge on the Johnny Smith.

There's all sorts of crazy sellers out there who ask for the moon, but that doesn't mean they necessarily get a bite. (The $1,700 NKC Mosaic is one of the more recent examples.) Looks like this person hasn't sold any of his copies. It also looks like a pretty good scam. According to his own Q&A, you can't tell it's a 1st edition until you open it and inspect some printed serial number on the CDs. By then you've already broken the seal and can't return it, and its collector value diminishes.

'Peals' is correct. It is listed as thus in the LP track listings (also on side 7 of the LP set) and the detailed discography. 'Pearls' on the CD listing is a typo. Thank you, brownie. I finally caught up with this thread again. Much obliged.

Jason Parker Quartet - No More, No Less I really like this artist. This album was just released in October. I haven't seen any discussion about it here. Amazon was inexplicably out of stock, so I ordered directly from the artist and ended up saving 30%.
