I found a vinyl copy of this today at what would appear a reasonable price. I don't know Russell's music at all (I know, ignorance alert) so didn't buy it. All Music Guide raves about it but mentions "screeching rock guitar" (not my thing at all) on one track. Any fans out there? How would you characterise the album? all comments gratefully receieved and may well influence whether I'm camping out in the morning waiting for the shop to open......

How is that one? I've often wondered about how it sounds without Vesala's usual cohort on board It's certainly different from the likes of Twet, Live at Remont. As the titles imply it has a heavier and altogether richer soundscape. It lacks the sheer visceral impact these other titles have and is perhaps closer to ECM releases like "Ode to the death of jazz". It's well worth hearing. Have not played this album nor "twet" or "live at remont" in years...a good reminder. And will you be seeing Jone Takamaki, mjazzg? If so you're lucky! Jealous... Thanks Gents. I'd suspected that it may be closer to the ECMs which is no bad thing in my book at all. I'm a big fan of all Sound and Fury albums Live at Remont I don't know at all but enjoy Twet a lot Yes, hoping to make it to Takamaki, life permitting

Really enjoyed this BFT. I'll be tracking down the Azar Lawrence and the Nate Morgan for starters with eyes out for some others along the way I said on the discussion thread that the Callier was just an unexpected delight to hear here.The album "What Color is Love" is a masterpiece but not his only one. Certainly his recording with Orton gave him wider exposure but the real championing was done earlier by DJs on the London scene which ended up with Callier visiting here for gigs at which point the Orton connection comes into play I think

Haven't paid more than £20 for a CD. LPs are different. One very much wanted and rare item came in at a shade under £150. Next most expensive has been under £50, more commonly £20 or so.

Couple of gems there. Coin Coin Chapter Two is startling stuff. Indeed. I've listened to both volumes several times on Spotify, but with the new one arriving soon I figured I should start to buy them up. new one soon? when, where? that's exciting news indeed, thanks edit to add: see all about it on the Constellation site. Horace Tapscott - The Call [Nimbus] waited some years to hear this.....just opened a sealed copy( Xmas present).....not disappointed

It was closed on the saturday afternoon I was there in October much to my disappointment Interesting to see two new independent shops have opened in Shoreditch - one a vinyl only Sister Ray, the other a third branch of secondhand dealers Flashback Records. Obviously reflects the changing geographical focus of the younger pound
