  2. I'll be there on the 12th! Looking forward to a great night of music and an added bonus of Randy being on hand. Don
  3. Notice how Dan and I die the same death: While drunk with friends, you fall down a flight of stairs and break your neck. Thinking you've simply passed out, your friends ignore your lifeless body for hours. I think I'll go back in and put in Donald.
  4. Jim, I'm very sorry to hear this, I know he was a great friend. Don
  5. John, glad that you and the band made it through intact and hopefully just as crazy. Thanks for sharing the music, it was great. Looking forward to the next, great Reptet tour.
  6. Bunny ears and tail? I saw nothing like that last night when Reptet played Kalamazoo, but what the hell, what I did see more than made up for that! This is one hot band and one hell of a good time. Alas, the attendance was light here as well, but like in TC, they were happy. John and the gang are truly one great group of musicians and I could only sit there and marvel at the energy and care that they put into their show. And what a show it was! If anybody is planning on seeing these guys on this tour, plan on staying until the last note dies as this band really pulls out all the stops as the night ends and the cry of "Last Call" only goads them on to greater activity. Truly a sight to see! I miss them already and can only look forward to the next time they are through here. A great band and a fine group of people! Oh! And to paraphrase Monty Python, " Nobody expects a conch shell".

  8. It sure was a kick to hear a name mentioned ( Chris Albertson ) that I recognized with while listening to All Things Considered tonight. Just another chapter in a interesting life eh Mr. Albertson?
  9. I'm ready! Looking forward to it and if you had made this trip a month later, I might have gone to Travese City and caught you with Organissimo as well. But, since you are coming to Kazoo anyway----I'll just wait. Don
  10. Yeah, Billy Joel was the opener one of the years I went too. I probably wouldn't have even noticed that he was there (as I had no idea who he was at the time), but I noticed that nobody else was paying any attention to him and I felt sorry for him.
  11. I saw them a few times in the mid seventies and it was a blast. Outdoor venue (Pineknob), summer afternoon, cold beer, excited girls in shorts, who could ask for anything more? Oh yeah, the music was fine too and yes, Mike Love is an asshole!
  12. I just have to get this in, as I cannot believe it is not already there: Blade Runner!
  13. Ever since the no new taxes mantra of the eighties, any politician that even remotely tries to have a realistic debate about what this country needs for funding of any type, is quickly put in his/her place. The public needs are not being met by this and this is the result. It really doesn’t matter who is in charge, politicians of all stripes would rather pose for a quick sound bite than actually explain to the public why this needs to be done. So the public just blissfully goes on its way, unknowingly into danger.
  14. This winter has brought an unusal visitor to my yard and the neighbors birdfeeder--a peregrine falcon. I first noticed it back in January when winter really started here in SW Michigan. There was a light snow falling and I saw a bird hanging out in the back yard, just sitting real still. As peregrine falcons are about the same size as a crow and due to the low light, I just assumed that it was a crow. I thought that the way the snow was sticking to its wings would make for an interesting picture and so I started a slow walk through the yard with my telephoto lens at the ready. Just I got within range for a fairly good shot, he flew off and that was when I first realized it was a peregrine. They don't usually hang around here, but I have seen them here in the winter before. I saw him again this morning checking out the activity at the neighbors bird feeder (hey! it is a bird feeder in more than one way I guess!) and so he must have found things to his liking here. It would be very neat if they would find a place to nest and stay year round, but without any cliffs or high buildings, I guess that won't be happening.
  15. It has been a long time since I have watched television. It started in 1980, I couldn't stand all the political ads that year and so I just didn't watch much. Then it was laugh tracks. If its funnjy I'll laugh, if not that noise just bugs me. It got to the point that all I watching was the weather channel. Now it just music and books.
  16. I've had a back problem that goes back to the early 90's. The Chiropractor that I saw off and on over the years has done a very fine job of keeping me going. But, now that I'm a Massage Therapist I realize that there is someone even better prepared to take care of most misplaced bones. Afterall the bone follows the muscle, not the other way around. -_-
  17. After I slipped and fell at work (tried to do a push-up with just my forehead), I had a MRI. Turned out to be the best thing I ever had happen to me at a hospital. I slept while it went on and then afterwards I was able to tell everyone, " Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have a brain."
  18. Just this past Friday night, I went out to dinner with a old friend of mine that was back for the holidays. We had a few drinks and a lot to eat and then when the evening was over, I drove her back to where she was staying. It was late, I was tired, but did not feel like I was anywhere near to being over the legal limit. I have a tendency to hang to the right side of the road and on the highway I was preety much on the fog line. I passed a sheriff in the median and he pulled out and followed me for a few miles, then pulled me over. He told me my licence plate light was out and since I had weaved over the fog line, he wanted to know how much I had had to drink. I said a couple of beers with dinner. That was it! I was soon out of the truck, saying the alphabet from B to Y with my eyes closed. Then it was march down nine steps heel to toe, left turn and then back eight steps. I guess that wasn't enough because then I had to stand with one foot raised to a 90 degree angle for 30 seconds. I have weak ankles and I doubt that I could do this for that long anyway and I thought the 22 seconds I was able to do it for was pretty good. I guess not for then it was time to blow into the tube! Boy was I scared! The result? .049 well under the leagal limit. Then of course he had to run my licence to "make sure I wasn't wanted in Louisiana for murder". Big laugh. I had to sit for another five minutes waiting for him to get back with my licence and then it was thanks for being honest have a good night! What really gets me about this is that since I work late and go home after midnight most nights, this was not the first time I have been pulled over for crossing the fog line. I haven't even had a speeding ticket in 30 years ( Yeah Knock on wood is right) and really feel violated by this. Makes me parinoid. Happy New Years!
