  1. there's an original Vogue copy of the Sadi for sale here. 120 EUR is A LOT of money
  2. has any of that leased material on the four 10"s Bill mentions ever been rereleased in complete form? I know the Moody was released on a Vogue CD paired with Frank Foster material, but it was incomplete. I would very much like to hear the Hodeir arrangements for strings.
  3. IMHO the player who really nails this technique on trombone is Albert Mangelsdorff. I would recommend checking out some of his recordings if you're into this. Thanks, I will. you'll want the later stuff. someone here will be able to fill you in on the best choices. there is some nice solo work out there too. I myself am quite partial to Hot Hut, an album he did with Elveeen and Dauner, but I doubt it is either easily available or the best there is.
  4. I'll drop Kenny G a note that he don a new artist name for his next album. Maybe he can rent the name of someone well loved in the truly hip jazz circles.
  5. get you carpal tunnel syndrome here

    Air

the very first Air I picked up was 80° below '82 on Antilles. It's on CD (Japan) and I bought it on a whim and because I recognised Threadgill's name from 'nuff 'nuff (which I had on tape) and it pretty much impressed me. I'll need to play it again. Has this ever been out on domestic CD?
  7. Unnecessary. You folks mingle for chissakes! The "conversation" component can certainly be very nice, but by throwing everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) into one thread, it tends to become cluttered and cliquish. The rat thread could really do with a little opening up IMO and the discussions there could use a little spreading across several threads and topics. I doubt whether much of the "conversation" would be lost that way. Besides collective moaning on the unavailability of certain titles, it usually amounts to little more than plugging one album after another and nodding in agreement or not. A bit of a drastic "outside" take on an otherwise fun to read thread, I know you can take it

  18. the selected tab is in white. all other available tabs that are currently NOT selected are in green. those unavailable are in grey shade and hardly readable anyhow. Check an artist like John Coltrane who has most of the tabs working. The design could have been much much better
  19. check the "compilations" tab under "discography"
