  1. yeah, but he really shouldn't forget in all the excitement it's better to be reminded too often than to miss out
  2. or it's his daughter
  3. don't forget the Monk either.
  4. never knew it myself before I read that post.
  5. yay! simultaneous similar message posting! so now all we need is for someone to pop up with a list.
  6. No overlap. Disque Vogue is under the RCA-Victor/BMG Umbrella, JiP is Universal/Verve.
  7. You may be on to something. This seems to be pianist Ronnie Clark's only record date. The only thing that Leonard Feather mentions about him in the liner notes is that he 'is an Aries with a brillantly original style'. Herbie Hancock was born April 12, 1940. An Aries! read the AMG quote in the very first post in this thread, it seems to be common knowledge that we're indeed dealing with Hancock here.
  8. Ed & Willem Bever Who??
  9. dialectics says it doesn't matter
  10. none of the other guests seem to notice them
  11. being creative with pictures will cost you an arm and a leg anyhow if you count the time involved. -_-
  12. very nice pics
  13. first one I heard and therefore still my favourite.
  14. oh! the horror!!!
  15. the Photoshop learning curve is not steep! I have been using it for years and still haven't found out about most of the functions. If this curve were steep, I'd be somewhere on Mars now. It just let's you learn a new trick every day, mostly by coincidence But I agree, PShop is not the programme for everyday use, much too powerfull really, and WAY too big, but I got hooked long ago and can't afford to rid myself of all those tricks and start anew with another programme. What are you trying to achieve is the main question. Just get rid of red eyes, crop the pics and adjust some levels, most of the programmes out there can help you with that. If you want to retouch, get rid of lost loves, or copy desired ones in, that can be a bit tricky.
  16. Was this broadcast as "Jazz - gehört und gesehen" (episode 32)? http://www.sojazz.org/monk/wesee03.html ThK, do you have that one?
  17. the statue looks like tom jones
  18. cduniverse lists it as an Australian import, albeit that they're showing the cover for Daddy Bug. And there some listed on half.com as well (or so it seems).
  19. does the stuff from the Jazz Institute in Darmstadt count? (link) Not familiar with much of their stuff, but you need to go through some effort to find these out and they're in German too, which helps obscurity. I only have the catalogue to the 1988 exposition, reprinted with additions in 1997. Now, that is one hefty jazz tome! 700+ pages (A4 sized) with loads of information on jazz, particularly also in Europe.
  20. either that or remove the chip. -_-
