the Universal France gallery!

when was this on Prestige and in what form? I thought this was originally a 3LP set on the America label. BTW:this was released on Emarcy/Universal France (not Verve).

this came out some time ago as a 2CD digipac, released by Universal France. The packaging is beautiful and the liners extensive. Sound is pretty good and two tunes, ArtTatumFatsWaller and Goodbye Eric that were originally left off due to bad sound quality, are included. Apparantly, the folks who worked on this issue managed to work with the tapes and produce something decent. This is some 26 minutes of music! I haven't had time yet to really sit down with this music. I will do so pronto, thanks for the impulse!

artful detail from one of the nearby GDR housing blocks I still haven't found out what that one guy in the back is holding. below more detail. The way he wears his jacket of course kicks some major ass. The lady seems impressed. It looks as if he's waving with a shark or some other fish. But that doesn't make sense, right?

what's with the girlie colours?

this has been released in digipac by Rhyno/Warner in 2002 and paired with Daddy Bug on Collectibles in 1999. Should still be available. It is indeed a pretty good album.

Got hold of a copy of the Jazz Restitutio disk and it's another winner. Like on the Recital disk, Mr Körössy plays stunningly original versions of some standards - My Funny Valentine is worthy of particular mention - and some originals as well. All that has been said in this thread about the man holds true. Amazing album. The support is stellar, the bassist, Räducanu seems to be a hidden master of the instrument, and Iofescu on drums does not get in anyone's way while laying down some nice pedestrian beats. The solo stuff is just fabulous of course...
