  1. I must have been playing my cards wrongly then, 'cause I screw up ALL the time and haven't learned a bit. Oh well, as long as there's fun... which reminds me: besides the humble and timid blahblah, never hide your enthousiasm. This place may be full of it, but the world has far too little of it.
  2. more food for thought and more new things to hear in familiar music. thanks mike
  3. I wonder if he will take a break on the seventh day

  7. I looked before I listened, but then, there is no disk yet anywhere I think. Does that make it okay?

    Funny Rat

up for others. I am enjoying the shit out of this one. Time to check this thread started by Muskrat
  9. Listening to this album right now, and man! This is a blast! Very powerful stuff. I do hear some of the Trane bag in Holmströms playing as well. But there is also Ayler, Ornette, some Bartz/Maupin in there. Nothing to get strung up about as the guy definitely has a story to tell. I find this very enjoyable stuff. Thanks to Muskrat for the heads up. His description of the music fits very well for me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED indeed!
  10. 5 candles today
  11. subliminal messages again?
  12. there's a 4CD proper box out there I believe. Sells for around 20 USD. Always a proper starting point. I don't know about the sound on this one.
  13. Woa! thanks Jim, that's a GREAT story, to a GREAT track and a GREAT album. I am sure it will make me hear things differently next time I give it a spin. And take care with the stimulants will you, not that you drop dead on us...
  14. I think the problem people seem to have with the cover lies in the lettering and overall design, not in the choice of photograph.
  15. CD arrived today. No chance to listen in yet. There were two more disks in the box and I will have to divide my time wisely. Will post as soon as I have had a decent listen
  16. sure, he's just not allowed to visit the Babe thread Hm, I think the political forum is much more harmful for kids his age... true of course
  17. sure, he's just not allowed to visit the Babe thread
  18. well, I think I wouldn't need to be forced by corporal threats to suscribe to the estimation of the trumpet player... He ruins a lot of good music for me I am sorry to say.
  19. yeah what!!! it's not wacko! it's called taste!
  20. early fifties Miles is the ONLY priority I have when it comes to Mr Davis. I don't like the rest much but probably will pick this one up.
  21. watch the subtlety of deus pointing out to us the nature of life being a struggle between good (spiderman) an evil (the green goblin)
  22. After listening to the entire album twice, I thought I'd unearth this thread to add some praise for the bassist. It seems others heat the same thing as I do. What an amazing player! Pity he didn't record anything else (or so it seems). Reading throught this thread with the music in mind makes it all the more interesting.
  23. who's Nathan? Are you Nathan? Deus is all people! happy birthday
  24. yeah, I guess that makes sense. They should probably have done some market research to find out the US market doesn't like these cardboard things and THEN start a series.
  25. hmmm, following that rationale there's an awfully large bunch of LPR CDs out there. Really, to me the whole sense lies in the mini-LP sleeve packaging. I think this is the case for more people as the question street singer posed proves. I find it rather strange that they decide to ditch the packaging and keep the line and the name. But what do I know...
