  12. until a couple of months ago i felt the same about Mclean, but i started to like his avant garde stuff with grachan moncur when i started to hear jazz, cause i was a prog rock fan, i started with jazz fusion but i don't like the ones of metheny and pastorius ha you're right about herbie mann, and also his album covers suck

    Tina Brooks

well, i found in tina brooks one of my all time favourites playing tenor, i got caught also by his writing, you know compositions like open sesame and gypsy blue on freddie hubbard's open seame, others like the waiting game, theme for doris, true blue, minor move and others, actually i love every Tina Brooks composition but isle of java on jackie's bag, which i like but not that much. Well, your thoughts about this (for me) unsung hero of the tenor?
  20. I hear the version of 'Beatrice' on this one is excellent. i didn't know he made a version from beatrice, i must hear that stuff
  21. 1977: The Disco Trane: John Coltrane and a cast of thousands, produced by Donna Summers' producer (sells 3 million copies) makes my day

    Robert Johnson

ha what a nonsense, i heard the slowed versions and like them more, and for me the man thing about johnson's music is his rawness, the feeling he put on writing and interpretation and not his speed. However all we know the thing that made him famous was his supposed deal with the devil.
  23. just asking how many of you people has any kind of interest about jazz centered comics or know or has reached some of they, i know about a couple of them, and actually don't know in which countries are published, but just want to know what's you opinion on this? i know a couple like betty blues, bluesman, barney et la bleue note, harlem blues, etc.
