Actually I suspect that would apply to any child, not just your own. But don't quote me on that. -

Did you know there are places where it's prohibited to drag your children behind you quickly? -

The Pats are self-abusing the rest of the NFL. Big giant, HUGE problem. -

What about self-abusing oneself into an inflated head and biceps and hitting more home runs than anyone else? -

That means Dumpy Mama must respect their opinions!

Congratulations, Paul! Your life has forever been changed for the better.

That's a good reccomendation. I think only their first release, "The Party's Over" could be called new wave or brit pop or something. They rapidly changed after that, though "It's My Life" has their biggest hit in the title song. The rest of the album isn't quite like that song though, but it does walk the fence between pop-ish music and what they did later - whatever that is. I agree with Dave that "Colour of Spring" is an exceptional album.

From DGM: Ending weeks of speculation in various online communities, Robert Fripp has revealed in his latest online diary that drummer Gavin Harrison (of Porcupine Tree) will be joining King Crimson. The band will be playing a series of live dates in Chicago’s Park West – most recently the venue to RF and the LoCG appearance in the windy city. Fripp notes “Park West is a fave venue, and one I have been working for 27 years. The LCG were here in 1989 & 1990…This is also the venue where, according to our current plans for King Crimson’s return to active-service in 2008, preparatory to the 40th. Anniversary Celebration of 2009, The Beast Of Crim will be playing a 4-night residency in August 2008 with KC’s third double-drumming formation. The first formation: Jamie Muir & Bill Bruford (1972-73); the second formation: Pat Mastelotto & Bill Bruford (1994-97); the third formation: Pat Mastelotto & Gavin Harrison. A fourth double-drumming formation, of 1981-84 (Adrian & Billy B), doesn’t quite count as Adrian’s primary focus was in the front line.” Harrison is one of the most respected drummers of his generation, adding a prodigious technique to the work of Porcupine Tree as well collaborating with Jakko Jakszyk on The Bruised Romantic Glee Club, and most recently, Drop – an album with bassist and singer, 05Ric and also featuring contributions from Fripp. Some may recall Drop was featured as a DGMLive giveaway (see my review on the blog), perhaps hinting at Harrison's proposed involvement. Only DGMLive regular, Chocolatefireguard, spotted the listing on King Crimson's myspace site: the top four musicians have been there for a couple of months now. More details will be announced regarding rehearsal schedules and ticket availability as soon as we get them.

Definitely different styles. Hopefully they'll go 19-0 and fulfill their destiny. And do it again next year and the year after. Good luck to 'em.

Typical comment from a college football fan. I got news for you, Agg. NFL is not college! There's no such thing as running up scores. These are million dollar babies. We put the offense in to score. If we don't want to score, we put in the punting team. We're not playing Texas A&M for cryin' out loud! If the Patriots played the Aggies, I think the final score would be something like 223 to -28 (yes, minus!). College ball hasn't been much fun for me personally this year, but it's been an exciting year overall. ALOT of Top 10 upsets! "There's no such thing as running up scores." Remember that quote some day when Brady tears an MCL when the Patriots are up 42-7 against some lesser team, and his season (and perhaps career) is over. I honestly believe the other 31 coaches in the NFL would have kicked the FG on 4th down with that lead at that point in the game, instead of trying to pile on uncecessary points.

Jason Campbell played a great game today against the Cowboys. He didn't get much help from the Skins' running game though. But it looks like he's finally becoming the QB that the Redskins hoped he would be when they drafted him. Tony Romo had a good game, and hooked up with T.O. for 4 TD passes. The shotgun snaps were ugly today though - they need some practice or something! I like this quote from Romo about it though: edit - I just saw the Pats go for a cheap TD on 4th down, when they were up 35-7 in the 3rd Qtr versus the Bills. Why couldn't they simply kick a FG when they're up that much, and Buffalo clearly isn't going to come back? Eventually the karma from piling it on against everyone is going to come back against this team. Maybe not this year, but some time.

I'm on board! I like "It's My Life" all the way to "Laughing Stock". Their live album is one that's often overlooked by alot of folks, and is difficult to find. Hollis' solo album is a gem as well. And the "A Sides Besides" compilation has alot of great non-album stuff too. I wish Hollis would come back to music, and reunite the band. I think they could pick up where they left off pretty easily.

I wouldn't disagree with your point here at all. I don't think a vigilante shooting wild animals is part of the solution though. -
I haven't completely given up on the order from the Swiss vendor, but I have my doubts that they'll ever get the Monk box: Dear customer, Thanks for your email. Unfortunately, our supplier has not been able to deliver the item yet. We will rush the supplier. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience. Best regards, Tamao Takeda At least they're finally going to rush their supplier! Bum-rush 'em!

Well, in defense of the quoted baseball players, professional ball players as a group might not be considered the sharpest knives in the drawer... That's defending them?

I'd be surprised if anyone would adopt a feral cat (assuming it's disease free and healthy). They don't make the best pets, as they don't trust humans. And it seems to me the cats have just as much right to exist in the wild as the birds, regardless of their endangered status. Heck down here, I'd prefer the cats go after some of these dang seagulls and grackles. -
HEY!

The above-board answer: From his NFL pension, which he got to keep for some reason (unless my memory is failing). My suspected "real" answer: From the money socked away in the Swiss bank accounts, that the Browns & Goldmans can't touch.

He rejected Duncan the game before, as well. Kobe gets up there!

I tend to agree with Dan's point as well. The dude should have called the authorities - taking a Charles Bronson vigilante stance is stupid, and shooting a cat in a public place like that is dangerous. What if a homeless person also happened to be sleeping under the bridge when he tried to shoot the cat? Besides, how does he know that THAT particular cat was the guilty one? Was he witnessing it eat one of his beloved shore birds when he shot it? Or was it simply the first wild cat that he found in the area? -
Do you think these will catch on in America?

They're only sensible for a very specific niche or sub-market, IMO. And I don't think they could be considered a utility vehicle in any way. There is no ability to transport anything in there, unless it can fit on the passenger seat while you drive. edit - maybe I don't understand your question. Is it for Smart cars, or vehicles in general?
