  1. I saw them all over the city every day when I lived in Stuttgart. They are good commuter cars in that type of environment. As far as mileage goes: The Smart ForTwo's big selling point is going to be fuel economy. For the current version, the company estimates a combined city/highway fuel mileage of about 40 miles per gallon, according to DaimlerChrysler. (The 60 mpg figure sometimes reported is for the diesel-engine version.) These aren't hybrids, either. I wouldn't feel comfortable at all travelling on interstates in something like this, but for city driving (without the need to haul things, other than yourself), they make some sense.
  2. We all trip over words from time to time. I do HS football and baseball games as the stadium PA announcer. Sometimes the names are just plain unpronounceable. It happens. I think you should re-read Chris' post. It has nothing to do with mispronouncing someone's name.
  3. Here's another example: The original Dio Years set came out just 6 months ago (I don't have it, nor do I plan to get it). But what incentive is there to purchase a new release, if you suspect it will come out a few months later with "more"?
  4. Good luck, Jim! And I hope an hour is just an hour!
  5. I should add that it wouldn't bother me as much if the "complete" package had bonus tracks, but came out 5-10 yrs down the line. Then it would be my choice whether to upgrade to get the additional material or not. But if they *are* adding material to the complete set now, when the 2 individual discs are still very fresh, well that's just an attempt to fleece the market, IMO. They seem to re-release a number of pop titles with additional material (the McCartney Memory Almost Full comes to mind right now) these days, only a couple of months after the initial release. I think that's pretty sorry.
  6. Larry's gonna be mad that you have that!
  7. That's perfectly fine thinking, as long as no "bonus" material shows up on the Complete set. If that happens, I will be annoyed that I purchased the two individual titles.
  8. M Q Bond....James Bond
  9. Watching the SD/Indy football game, and notice how much rain is coming down. Has it been raining in SoCal alot lately? Or at least enough to put out the fires? I haven't heard much about this issue in a while, so hoping for good news.
  10. Manning's thrown 5 INTs so far, but they're only down 8 at this point. Still could pull out a win - Romo did that in Buffalo.
  11. I think YOU missed the part where you made it blatantly obvious.
  12. Oh, you're just LOVING this, aren't you, conn? ...and BTW, please start spelling "defense" like the rest of the world! You'd think the guy had a British passport or something.
  13. Emmitt's gotta be the worst analyst out there right now. He speaks like the Dubya of sports announcers. I enjoyed the Cowboys/Giants game today. Tied at the half, the Cowboys played better in the second half than the Giants. Eli had 3 delay of game penalties for not getting the snap off in time, and Aikman and Buck hammered on him about that. Shockey had a great game, and Brandon Jacobs ran well, I thought. But they didn't get much help outside of that. And the Giants took Witten out of the game, but T.O. had two pretty TD receptions. And Crayton and Hurd both came up with timely receptions. Romo looked very good again, with one INT on a bad decision pass. Otherwise he played a solid game.
  14. Happy Birthday Rolf! Thanks for the humor and light-heartedness you bring to the board.
  15. Pivo = beer in Czech. I'll stick with that definition!

  22. Marty DiBergi David St. Hubbins Nigel Tufnel
  23. ....as Quincy Jones is to Jazz? Well, that was a quick game!
  24. My daughter broke her collarbone falling off a carousel horse when she was about 6. I still feel horrible about it, though she made it through fine. I'm sure she will remember it more from the story telling about it than the actual event. Just like I'm betting Zora will as well.
