  1. Thanks, thought she could bring the love here to the Organissimo board, and ya'll would bring it home to your love'uns! Happy Love Day!
  2. Arrrggg. Didn't know this was in danger of going OOP. Logged onto Mosaic tonight so I could order it and was horrified to notice it wasn't on there. Ugggg. I had been waiting for some extra bread. Noticed a completed auction on EBAY for 200 plus bucks. I had no idea this think was moving that fast. I know it's been around a while, but thought it wasn't "sexy" enough for most and would languish on the mosaic shelves awhile. Oh well, just goes to show....
  3. Today, my 6 year-old daughter drew a heart with "Love Day" inside of it. And declared it Love Day today. Out of all the bogus and tired holidays we have...thought she had a pretty good idea. So...Happy Love Day! to everybody. Try to pass it on.
  4. Not that I didn't dig pre-war Lester, just that I've alway much preferred his Verve stuff by a long shot. Really, really, really soulful playing. As much soul as ever been put on wax of any era or genre.
  5. Millie broadcasts from Georgia, I think it is (might even be from her house!) , but her show is heard only in Dallas, on Soul 73, KKDA-AM, 730 on your dial. Anybody who's in the area and digs old-school Soul music is advised to tune in to this station and enjoy the ride. Some people might lauch at her album covers, but back in the day, she was a great singer! I didn't realize she was broadcasting from Georgia. KKDA always has the coolest soul singer djs....Johnnie Taylor anyone?
  6. Don't know about the show, only seen it was...though it was o.k., nothing blew me away really. But I am growing tired of all my musician friends who think this is genius stuff, who quote lines from it ad nauseum.
  7. I actually remember the Millie Jackson LP. I lived in Dallas at the time and she was/is a DJ there. Always dug that cover.
  8. ...and we also won't tell them that the "presets" are just pre-recorded songs...the A natural is Back At The Chicken Shack A flat is Misty G natural is More Today Than Yesterday, ect. ....you know
  9. That's the back of the hollow box that holds the expression pedal.
  10. Is that your A100 Soulstation?
  11. Just checkin' itunes today and looks like Night Dreamer, Like Someone In Love, A Night In Tunisia and maybe some others are on itunes. Don't know if this is recent or old
  12. Is he playing bass on the organ? I always thought they had a fender bassist in that band.
  13. I'm not really that hip to Chester Thompson.
  14. Damn, I'd love to get that!!!! I dig that Broadway album a lot and love the sound. Used to hate that sort of stuff on the organ, but have grown to really appreciate it. But, like everything else, the price is ridiculous....400 bucks...pAleaaaase.
  15. Hope to hear first hand one of these days Jim! I really dig the 21H. That's interesting about that replacement driver. And yes Clem, same guy (and least some of your description sounds familiar)!
  16. Eric Kloss did someKILLER organ records with Don Patterson and Groove Holmes on Prestige. Just some beautiful stuff. His first 2 records....
  17. My wife explained to me that when he was Oprah, he told her it was for a movie he's making right now. So I don't think it's real. Was he in Booty Call? Quite a career odyssey... Yes, back in the "Living Color" days...who would have thought. And also, 21 Jump Street's Johnny Depp as one of our greatest living actors. Some career turnarounds no question.
  18. Jim, my 122 just has an original Jenson driver in it. Sounds very nice and smooth to my ear, but live...just seems like you've got to cut through without sounding screechy. I'd rather be a bit on the dull side as opposed to screechy. Especially since I play with the slow motor unplugged. Seems that in itself can really cause too much treble. But in the end, sometimes it sound good, sometimes not. Even in the same spot in the same club week after week. Plus, I always get the feeling the people out front aren't getting a good sound through the PA. The organ can sound so rich, but at the hand of these terrible soundman...uggg. I get a lot of..."Couldn't hear the bass." Which is a drag, since as you know, a hell of a lot of your attention is happening on the bass-side of things.
  19. My wife explained to me that when he was Oprah, he told her it was for a movie he's making right now. So I don't think it's real. Hmmm. Maybe they could have washed it off for the Oscars.
  20. My B's a 56. Real deep and rich, but not as sharp as I might like sometimes in a live situation. I like the models around 63 myself. Wish I could get my hands on one. The 70's B3s are great, but feel and sound very different to me. Wish I had one from every era!
  21. I like how Hillary Swank won the oscar for playing a role based in her own roots..."I had a dream when I was living in the trailer park!" (or something to that effect). It's ACTING!. I thought she developed that bad accent for the role. Guess she had it all along. I bet Annette was ready to stangle her. That speach was a drag..."no, you can't stop me from rambling on...I'm a STAR!" Also, was unaware Foxx had that ridiculously large back-o-the-head tattoo. Guess he's been hangin' with Tyson.
  22. I'm not familiar with that magazine. Where can it be found?
  23. Mike, is there a book in the making or perhaps an article?
  24. I could happily live the rest of my life if I never saw another Oscars, Grammys or Superbowl.
