i was extremely fond of Bill. i worked part-time for him many years ago from his home office. i'm still in touch with some of his family. he was a fabulous, interesting, kind, sweet guy. at least that is the way i knew him. R.I.P., dear Bill.

Lorraine most definitely deserves to be honored (as do others as well). she has kept our legendary jazz club going for all these decades at her advanced age. and she hires top talent all the time. and as someone pointed out on another thread, it's a way of honoring Max as well. well-deserved, IMHO.

i'm very sorry to hear that she was yet another victim of this dreadful disease. she was indeed a very sophisticated and classy woman. and i don't believe it was easy being married to Nat. she appeared to be a very courageous woman in dealing with lots of challenges in her life. may she rest in peace.

One of my first ever CD purchases was the "Mingus at Monterey" CD (Prestige/Carrere 98.480, AAD) issued by Prestige/Carrere in France; totally legitimate I assume. This Mosaic release looks awesome! i purchased the Mingus at Monterey LP from Mingus!!!! and it's signed as well. a treasure.

has anybody yet realized or even thought about the fact that no matter where Goody posts, it all comes down to the same disruptiveness, dissension, etc., etc. it NEVER fails!! he is totally consistent with his M.O. and one can never get him to understand what anyone is saying that disagrees with him. he will talk in circles. he causes people to repeat themselves dozens of times in an attempt to try to get him to understand anything that is logical or rational. and yet people keep trying. he actually means well but his reasoning powers are severely dysfunctional.

i totally agree with you, sonnymax. this is the most sickening news. it would be bad enough if they split the three evenings between Eric and Steve but to eliminate Steve entirely is outrageous.
