I thought that I'd mention this sale. Their stock isn't huge, but the deals are good in this sale. They do have some Steeplechase titles that are usually higher priced. I don't work there. Spend some more money, make your wives happy!

T-Mac, Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, Lebron, Carmelo, Kirilenko...that's a pretty stellar cast of guys who entered the NBA in their teens. And that's a short list. I'm not saying that forgoing college or leaving early is a formula for success...but I'd have to say that it's becoming less exceptional nowadays that guys come in early and are ready.

Well, here's the big update. In the last 2 weeks I've gotten two emails from the bidder, #1) Saying that he was sorry about his friend's not paying, why don't I relist it, he personally couldn't afford to buy it, etc.. This was in writing that could have easily come from a drunken 7-year old Aric Effron. I was starting to doubt if this guy wasn't actually a young kid. I asked if he was of age to bid on ebay in my reply email. #2) Was practically the same except he said that the bidder's friend decided not to buy it after finding out that the raw brass (the lacquer was removed by the previous owner to darken the sound) wasn't factory. Also that yes, he was of age to bid. I thought about it many times...the whole "why don't I relist it" thing... and decided that if they had been more responsible about communicating w/ me, before and after, they could have had all of their questions answered pre-purchase. I might have done it if they hadn't been so G.D. flakey. I basically said "no", I wasn't going to relist it, yet. This was all tinged with vague references to legal proceedings, which might be necessary to collect the payment. Finally, I gave one last effort yesterday to put an end to all of this bullshit by leaving two messages w/ the guy's friend. Lo-and-behold, this morning at 7:00 the guy called. He explained the whole raw brass trepidation thing, and that he regretted that his friend was in the middle. He said that because I was so obviously displeased w/ what had gone down, he feared that I'd somehow fuck with the horn before sending it. I reassured him that I hadn't, wouldn't, etc.. He claims that he'll be sending me the money by Friday (knock on wood!). Maybe my stubbornness has finally paid off!

I think that the interlocking fingers style of hand-holding that they're doing suggests that they are not parent and child, or worker and disabled kid. Maybe she just likes him. He might even also be hung like a gnat, and she still might have the depth to like him for his personality.!?!

No, it does not make you a better musician. I know that Chet Baker used a lot of student model horns (not by choice, but necessity), and sounded great on them. The more expensive instruments might be easier to play, have better features, even a nicer tone, but if you don't have an inate ability to make an instrument "sing", it doesn't matter what equipment you use.

In Portland, I would try Music Millenium on SE 32nd and Burnside. They have a great new selection, a decent used one, and a bunch of good vinyl upstairs.

Last night. I had 3 Mangoritas at my favorite Indian Restaurant. They fill a pint glass w/ ice, fill it to about an inch and a half from the top w/ tequila, concentrated mango pulp on top, w/ a little lime juice. Mighty good. I've never seen anyone drink more than 3. No hangover!

As far as I can tell she committed perjury, and engaged in insider trading. Not exactly a victim, is she?
