  1. hmm, are ya sure you didn't see one of the Sailor Moon parodies that otaku(read hardcore anime freak who is myopic about anything not related to Japan) fanboys/fangirls make?
  2. agreed Jim, if we were to remove the colors and contemporary production this would be like a record at the height of the young lion movement in the 80's.
  3. I totally agree about that Herbie solo, although I must respectfully disagree with you about the album as a whole, that Herbie solo first time I heard it, my face contorted and I was yelling out loud it was so great.
  4. since I am an anime fan: Sailor Moon Season 1, uncut, and Chappelle's show season 2.
  5. I got crunk, I don't drink.................. so just got uh sugared out a little, bought the Miles RAM Legacy edition, Chappelle's show Season 2, got a whole lot of Japanese language aids for my b-day, I'm rearning to speak the ranguage no offense intended by speaking engrish there.
  6. uh, Joe, it'll be getting crazy and I'm gonna knock my friend out in Fight Night Round 2, she'll be out quick. but thats another story
  7. yep, I just turned 24 . and I'm happy, my best friend is coming to visit, so it'll be a nice way to get CRUNK!!! I hope I get the Round About Midnight Legacy Edition as I gave my copy away to a friend
  8. Kari, the gig is on www.dimeadozen.org (formerly easy tree) they do "Butterfly" and Lionel Loueke takes an impressive first solo, followed by Mayer..... Mayer sticks to blues terrain and builds the tension nicely.. a very fun gig to listen to, I burned it to CD a few hours ago. "Hang Up Your Hangups" is a fine encore, not as epic as on "Flood", but hey, it works
  9. listening to a show the HH did June 9th, Garrett is burning on "Frankenstein" now.
  10. I love Bennie's solo on "Speedball" from "Live at the Lighthouse", and also that bass clarinet tune on there.
  11. "Actual Proof" is the second tune off "Thrust", even better is the live version on the import, "Flood".
  12. was Loueke a lead player and Mayer primarily backup ala Wah Wah Watson or Blackbird McKnight? do you remember the setlist? did they do "Actual Proof"?
  13. thank you Guy .
  14. was Herbie playing his digital versions of the Rhodes and Clavinet? they actually sound pretty good, that virtual instrument stuff he used on the F2F tour. How was Lionel Loueke on guitar? he really impressed me on Blanchard's new record.
  15. aren't there exceptions to the removal of standards in the repertoire, such as some 1969 gigs? I remember seeing something in Losin's discography.
  16. haha, true.
  17. Kari, grab the disc? any thoughts?
  18. wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Jim, for that matter in either UFC, Pride or K-1(kickboxing) might would get creamed.... can someone say Jerome LeBanner or Gary Goodridge(his chin sucks, but he can hit)
  20. happy belated birthday Kevin, the person who offered me a real copy of Cool Blues when it was OOP..... If only I could return the favor a few years later with something.
  21. hmm, shouldn't this be moved to Musicians' forum Jim? some of this is way over my head, interesting, but wouldn't it be better in the musicians forum area? now I'm gonna go listen to that "Luny Tune" solo and see if I can get a handall on what y'all are Talkin About
  22. ooh, how big was it?
  23. Mark Ledford (RIP) vocals, guitar, keyboards, sax, trumpet, percussion Richard Bona- vocals, guitar, keyboards, percussion, bass Chick Corea- piano, drums Pat Metheny (yep, Pat) guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, percussion (most of these he plays himself on Secret Story, as well as bass on some ECM stuff, also plays additional keyboards on Anna Maria Jopek's "Upojenie" in addition to guitar) Keith Jarrett-piano, sax, orgasmic yells John Patton- organ and tambourine
  24. I wish I could go! Yet another new place opened for live music here, mostly a lot of so-so local acts but someone should bring Pat's trio, Kenny Garrett and Organissimo :-D
