Karin Bergquist - thanks for checking her out. Now I can put you on "ignore".
  5. Wait until you get to be as old as I am. Better than the alternative though. Happy Birthday!!
  6. All of the other Netflix series have come out on disc eventually. I agree - hope this does too.

"Sexism(?), troglodyte(?), lock the gates(!!)" - I refuse to be "trolled" (Scott), so I'm out of this thread. You (Scott) will probably be too narrow minded to check out Karen Berquist.
  8. U.S. or Japanese issue? Are they the same?

Your comments combined with Allen's sound disturbingly similar to John Tynan's comments about Coltrane and Dolphy. Defend the perceived fortress! I have no idea what the "perceived fortress" is. I love Coltrane & Dolphy together, separately, whatever. Are you saying I called Norah Jones the "anti-jazz"? Sorry I disturbed you, but you seem a little obsessed with this issue. If you like woman singers of the non-jazz ilk, spend a little time with Karen Berquist of Over The Rhine. There - I got snobby again.

A major kerfuffle over nothing. I bought Nora Jones first album & nothing since. I guess she's better than Taylor Swift, but why do we care so much? Allen Lowe's music OTOH is worth your serious attention IMO. Snobs like me keep the standards up.
  11. One of my Burton favorites is A Genuine Tong Funeral.
  12. Good price for Scratching The Seventies.
  13. Paloma Faith: Trouble With My Baby
  14. Craig Johnson: Any Other Name (A Walt Longmire mystery)
  15. Jack De Johnette Trio (Ravi Coltrane, Matt Garrison)
  16. I guess you're correct in the essentially low $$ world of CDs, LPs. Bronzes & numbered lithographs are different stories. The lithographic stones, for example, are supposed to be destroyed when the numbered edition is completed. The advent of open ended (& even numbered) giclees has created IMHO a whole new & somewhat "shady" market in the 2 - dimensional art world.
  17. What is this "first pressing" business? I know it's a different world but if you bought a bronze that was one of an edition of 50 & then they "reissued" it, you'd be (correctly) pissed.
  18. I only have ordered once from them - the 4 "Fontana" reissues. Took around 3 weeks to arrive here in the US, but they had them.
  19. FWIW, my original 1998 Brotzmann Okka box is #1942. Great music, flimsy packaging.
  20. What's wrong with "setting the record straight?" BTW, I didn't feel scolded by Berne or Hammer.
  21. Bruce Robison / Kelly Willis
  22. It'll take me another 10 years. Hope I make it.
  23. I'd prefer John Lennon - of course, unrealistic!!!
