I'm also in for the Abrams Young At Heart/Wise in Time solo side as my #1 pick. Abrams, Randy Weston, Mal Waldron, and Andrew Hill come to mind as my favorite artists for the sub-genre, but I'll have to go back to my shelves for specific titles.
I came into contact with his younger brother David (amazing man, storied career at CDC and elsewhere, has his own Wikipedia page) a few years ago, and he provided me a copy of 'Fast Company' and hipped me to the Lenny McBrowne albums.
I'm in for the 1962-1966 set with all new Giles Martin remixes. They have been stunning so far. No need for the later set, as I have the remixes of the later albums. The stuff where the other guys dub on top of dead John's demos has always creeped me out, and I have no desire to own it.
I own it and the previous two in the series, and am well pleased with all three. The first one is a treasure. I also like the companion sets which have remasters/repackaging of the albums released at the time.
I also always use credit card through PayPal (another benefit is the cash back bonus on the card), and also have found credit card companies working harder for me on claims, where ebay/paypal always seem to side with the seller, ragardless of the true circumstances.
RIP. Excellent 60's Philly band. "Open My Eyes" was their greatest moment, and was on the original legendary 'Nuggets' 2LP set, and more than held its own in that illustrious company. I listen to them more than to almost any other Todd work (the one exception being the splendid 'Back to the Bars'.
