  2. No, his real name is Clifford Brown, yeah, that one. I and the others members who met him personally can testify it. He explained us that he was actually bored about how the jazz was going at times, so he decided to arrange a fake incident and retire in Paris where he pursued the research of the Perfect Music. From his latest decision I guess he didn't find it, yet. Good Luck, Glifford! Sure, but the guy still can PLAY the trumpet! Regards, Duke Ellington at his 108 (member formerly known as EKE BBB)
  3. Though I understand brownie's feelings on dedicating too much time to this board, I'm also one of those who think that the Big O won't be the same without him. Anyway, we'll stay in touch, of course! Count me in for additional (and hopefully regular) trips to Paris. Seeking through those second hand jazz stores with you and enjoying a wonderful meal and a marvellous bottle of French wine at your place is one of the greatest pleasures of travelling to Paris. Ah, and if you reconsider avoiding Madrid in your trips to Spain.... there's a Muga Reserva Special of 1994 vintage waiting for you in my modest cellar! Best regards, Agustín
  4. I would say the final set will be something like vol. 120. If everything goes fine, and the current flow of 4 sets a year continues, that final set of theIntégrale should be available around 2040 Provided CD sets will still be an acceptable form of music by then! I'll keep my fingers crossed until then! That will make 100 years of good health! A huge birthday party is expected, brownie (with Louis Armstrong music from the Intégrale series on the air) Hope to be round there to celebrate!
  5. Strangely, it's not available through amazon anymore, except for 1 copy at the amazon.fr marketplace. Not available at cduniverse, worldsrecords or any other of my usual online sellers. OK, now I found it at FNAC.fr What kind of distribution is this?
  6. Just got volume 4 this morning, for less than 20 euros. Hopefully, someday I will be able to tell my grandchildren "Hell, I finally got the last volume of the Integrale Louis Armstrong!".
  7. I ordered a few Frogs from cduniverse this morning: Tony Parenti - Strut Yo' Stuff 1925-29 Johnny Dunn - Cornet Blues Clarence Williams - Shake 'Em Up 1927-29 Johnny Dodds - New Orleans Stomp 1926
  8. Paul looks eerily like a young Larry King in this photo. In fact Paul looks a lot like our board member brownie himself... And I am not kidding!
  9. Who cares about your 58 posts ?!?!?!?!? . . . . . . . . . . . I became Dr. Funkenstein this morning!
  10. Sad to read this thread about the end of Big O! I have been part of several BBs and I am actually a member of several jazz-related mail lists and yahoo groups.... but organissimo was (shit, I am talking past!) something special. If this finally happens... BIG THANKS to Jim for his invaluable service to the jazz cybercommunity! Chris, count me in for that alternative mail list! Here's my email: ekebbbapg@yahoo.es Sadly yours, Agustín
  11. OT: now I'm Dr. Funkenstein instead of Funktastic !!! btw, a friend of mine calls himself Dr. Fuckenstein... you can call him a show-off!
  12. Probably this set will be in my "pleeeeease-buy-me-this" Christmas list, besides the Chu Berry. Now we gotta see if my lady wants to add another couple of "those black boxes" to our shelves...
  13. The BMI online database shows two entries for "Teddy's Dream": one by a Theodore Reig (who has quite a few more registered tunes) and one by a Teddy Von Seele (whose only listed tune is this "Teddy's Dream"). Both tune entries have consecutive BMI#Work numbers (BMI Work #1464485 & #1464486) and share publisher (SCREEN GEMS-EMI MUSIC INC).
