  11. Dick Hyman In Recital (Reference)
  12. A friend of mine made a copy of his Jazz Art LPs for me some years ago, so I am not sure, but maybe I'll pass on this one. Obviously, he's not at his level from 30 years earlier, but it's great to have more Jabbo on disc!

  14. I think neither Bucky Pizzarelli nor Marty Grosz have been mentioned. I like them quite a lot, specially as "organizers a la Eddie Condon".
  15. Foxy Lady Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands Lady Madonna
  16. Red Nichols & His Five Pennies - 1926-1930 (Fabulous Records)
  17. In my opinion, and except for the Mardi Gras disc (a very poor epitaph), every track in their albums WAS a potential hit. I've yet to find a rock group with six consecutive albums as consistent as CCR + Cosmos Factory + Bayou Country + Green River + Willy And The Poorboys + Pendulum (listed in random order). Just my two cents.

  19. Big fan of the CCR here! I was kind of CCR freak about 20 years ago and, after more than 10 years of just jazz listening (and a bit of blues and classical), I put one of those Chronicle compilations on the car stereo the other day, and in just a few seconds I found myself shouting again like mad that "... there's a bathroom on the right" chorus [CCR freaks hint]. This has lead me to listen to their seven studio albums in a row, once again. Geez, they still have that energy. Love them!
  20. Jo Stafford - Autumn in New York/Starring to Stafford (Capitol) Hoagy Carmichael - Hoagy Sings Carmichael / The stardust road (Pacific) James Moody - Timeless Aura (Vanguard)
  21.
