Updated list on first post.

Up again! I´ve updated the list on the first post. Only five discs left.
-
Yes! Funnily, without knowing that today was Dorham´s anniversary, I had planned to spin his two Steeplechases with Tete Montoliu on board, "Short Story" and "Scandia Skies", tonight.
-

You guys? Maybe it's your emails (re the Tete Montoliu discography). Not more than two or three a day, I promise...
-
Collectors are really KRAZY!!!
-
I´ve been exchanging mails with him (re the Tete Montoliu discography) in the past few days, and he´s OK. He´s involved in so many projects that probably he´s simply taking a rest. You guys can be very absorbing sometimes...
-
I wish my French was better. Nah, it´s just a matter of pronunciation...
-
Thanks for your interest, Marcel! I was asking (well, trying to ask) if there´s only one track with Tete Montoliu in the NHOP compilation on Storyville, not in the Gullin/Shepp disc on SteepleChase. Maybe I didn´t express properly. Best wishes, Agustí

Thanks, brownie! So, some track timings doesn´t match with those listed in previous releases, right? Do the liner notes bring some light on why October 24 & 25 are the exact dates? And does the discographical information on the Lonehill discs give exact recording date for each track or do they include a "generic" <October 24&25> for all the track listing? Questions, questions, questions... (sorry for being such a pain in the neck!)
-
Can anybody confirm that the only track with Tete Montoliu is "Sweet Georgia Brown", recorded Nov. 21, 1963 at the Jazzhus Montmartre, and previously included in "Archie Shepp/Lars Gullin: The house I live in"(Steeplechase)? Thanks in advance! Agustín

When will we have a Spanish Verve Collection version of the board?
-
So... nobody owns the Lonehill reissue?
-
The RRK Mercury box is, to my knowledge, OOP, and it goes for 275-300 USD in Amazon marketplace. Too much for my wallet at this moment. I haven´t found any recent ebay auction. And I agree with Lon: Verve should have put out a double CD with this material. I really love those tracks included in the LPR. EDIT: just saw a recent auction on ebay (ended Nov. 9). And quite cheap: 55 GBP !!!

Thanks to all for your input! Flurin, I´ve replied to your mail. We´ll try to clarify all this Copenhagen/Berlin mess.

And as for the recording date for that/those Copenhagen concert/s, do the liner notes bring some light on why October 24 & 25 are the exact dates? Does the discographical information on the Lonehill discs give exact recording date for each track or do they include a "generic" <October 24&25> for all the track listing? My doubt on the reliability of that October 24 & 25 dates is that on October 24 there were a television broadcast and a radio broadcast from the Jazzhus Montmartre, with totally different tracklist (and this information comes from a very reliable source, George Bonifacio). Thanks in advance!

Could anybody check if the Copenhagen tracks in the Lonehill release are those listed in our Tete Montoliu discography as previously issued (bold letters)? Track timings would help. Omit Roland Kirk (f) on c, d, i, l, n, o, t, v, w, x. Sonny Boy Williamson (h) on l, m only. Omit Roland Kirk (mnz) on p, q, r, s. Roland Kirk (st) on a, b, c, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, u, y only. Omit Roland Kirk (ts) on c, i, p, q, r, s. Probably recorded over several sets and evenings. Actual recording sequence is not known. The Monkey Thing was edited to 5:56 on issues. Flute solo from b. was removed for LP issues (issued time 5:22) but restored on CD issues. There are segments of Kirk speaking (one is 1:55) that have not been issued. Narrow Bolero runs 5:22 on CD issue B000162902. Further details needed on this version. Some but not all selections include both bassists. Uncertain of which player appears on each selection. Kirk also plays nose flute on k. and m. and siren. His specific instrument details are not known for unissued selections. Williamson listed as "Big Skol" on original issue. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the track listing, it looks like all the material included in the Lonehill discs was previously issued. Same order as the previously issued stuff except for that second take of "Narrow Bolero", which in the Lonehill discs it´s at the end of the list.
