  1. Wait for Mike Fitzgerald to log in!
  2. Is there still a 100 kb limit to uploaded files? What does Global Space Left: unlimited space mean in the attachment section while you´re replying to a topic?
  3. TESTING AGAIN....
  4. Looking through "Appendix C - Duke Ellington on Television" of Strateman´s book, I found this entry for May 6, 1959: -May 6, unidentify TV channel - Dateline Boston - "Jazz Scene" [broadcast date; on Channel 5; pre-taped] No more information. Not sure if this may be somehow related to your tape.

FYI: There´s a bunch of Japanese HM discs for sale on ebay, auctions ending in a few hours. I am afraid I can´t afford those prices! http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZnecoQ5fkick The three CDs are: -The nearness of you -In Tokyo / Sings folk -Bossa Nova in Tokyo You´re still in time! (of course, I don´t have any relation with the seller)
  8. Take care, guys. The Dark Side is strong... May the Force be with you!
  9. Yeah! Everything seems normal now, even the PM function. Get that well-deserved sleep, Jim. Let us European members keep vigil over the board! B-)
  10. I had started another thread on Summer 2005 RVGs, but Cayetano pointed me to this thread. Just deleted mine.
  11. This Hill is excellent. Thanks. I had heard it´s one of his best solo performances. My only solo Hill so far is the Montreaux Festival disc. I bought these three items via ebay. Still a few days to receive this bunch, coming from Toulouse, France.

  15. Definitely, Madrid is not a good place to buy jazz CDs. Over the last five years, I could count with my fingers the number of times I´ve bought in Madrid stores. And recently, Madrid Rock, where you could find a "reasonably decent" selection and a few good bargains (such as RVG for 9 EUR and the Spanish Blue Notes for 4,95 EUR) has been closed. Like in many other European towns, you can go to FNAC, but you won´t find anything special. And prices (despite their "you can´t find it cheaper" advertisement) are quite expensive, sometimes purely crazy. I know there a few second hand small shops, but I am not the one to recommend them (funny that I know several excellent Paris second hand stores, but no idea for Madrid). Maybe bison ravi or cayetano ??? And as for Barcelona, yes!!! go to the JazzMessengers shop. One of the best places I´ve found to buy jazz. Cheers, Agustín
  16. Thanks, Mike!

For HM fetishists, there´s a photo of her for sale on ebay (Juan Les Pins, France, 1960): http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...item=6177816078
  18. Mike: I didn´t know Tootie Heath played flute. Is there any recorded evidence?
  19. Geeeez... it took me a few seconds to discover that there was no relation between the live recording you mentioned (1979) and the photo you posted!!! I even thought there was TWO Tootie Heath, as the pictures of Tootie I have seen (from about 1980, mainly performing or recording with Tete Montoliu) showed a young, athletic and black-beared guy and now you brought that one... ...obviously from 25 years later (50th anniversary edition of the (JVC) Newport Jazz Festival -2004) Cheers, Agustín
  20. Is it the day after Thanksgiving in Spain? These time zone issues confuse me.
  21. Anyone got this Storyville disc (STCD 8218) released on 2003? Could anybody confirm that Tete Montoliu only plays on these two tracks: "Wait a second" and "Spring is here"? On which exact date were these Tete Montoliu tracks recorded? Who were the rest of the musicians on those Tete Montoliu tracks, apart from Tete and Bent? Thanks in advance!!! Agustín
  22. Ufff, just came from my cold turkey! B-)
  23. From all the reviews I´ve read and the audio-clips in his website (that really impressed me), I finally took the plunge and ordered Eldar Djangirov´s recent release on Sonny Classical. Could anybody point me to any on-line store where I can get his two previous releases? I´ve visited 10 pages from my Google search, and several of my usual sellers´, without any result. Thanks in advance!
