  1. Yes, I understand. GIven what happened with the metadata still on the first two discs I thought it necessary to do a third, which has no info on them.
  2. Received the Larry Young "Contrasts" disc. Again, better than the Mosaic in that there is more depth and clarity. Haven't heard this session in a long while, and forgot how damn good this is. Up there with Unity.
  3. The miles Davis in the 70s track is from the 70s and has a couple of guys who played with miles.
  4. Track 4 is Meditations, and it isn't Mingus. There are no Muppets on any of the tracks.
  5. It is Enlightenment but it isn't Sun Ra.
  6. Close enough for me. Pulled the trigger on it, as it looks like they really paid attention to the selections and versions (lots of remastered mono, for example).
  7. Thanks. I try to create a story with these mixes, usually for driving, as a matter of fact. If you take a peek, great, if not, that's fine too. Don't forget the third disc which has been confirmed to be all anonymous. Track 21 is from a great album.
  8. What about this set, just released?
  9. Sent PMs, fingers crossed.
  10. Whipped up a THIRD disc. No tags. If this shows up, I will be baffled.
  11. Received the Eric Dolphy this afternoon. Yeah, this one stands out as the best version on cd to date. Crystal clear, like it was recorded today.
  12. So the new vinyls will be from digital masters?
  13. I think I am going to whip up one more disc tonight or tomorrow. I have an idea of how to bring in the files without having any music player do an auto ID of the tracks. Everything is so automated that it is very hard to make things anonymous. Until then, at least enjoy the mixes.
  14. To answer the DMG question, yes they are cd-rs.
  15. I had the lp, and it was very good. The SHM comes pretty darn close.
  16. "Backordered"? Suuurrrre.......
  17. Thanks, and again, I don't know what happened since I had stripped, renamed and checked for possible tags before uploading.
  18. Gave the game away, but here's a thread to talk about BFT 120.
  19. Jim, replace the clear plastic tray with a black one. Problem solved!
  20. I've been told the ID tags somehow are apparent when playing them on the computer. I have no idea how; I stripped them when making flacs, then reviewing them again file by file before compression. I apologize, and hope at least everyone can enjoy the sets for what they are.
  21. Up, looking for more listeners. Will send the links for downloads later today -- snowed in today, so this is a perfect time to do this.
  22. Received the SHM discs of Shorter's Speak No Evil and The All Seeing Eye. What erwbol said above, the differences in the RVG and SHM of Speak No Evil is slight, in that there is a slightly different depth and distinction of instruments, but not that significant to warrant spending $20. The All Seeing Eye, however, is significantly better than the Connoisseur cd. Destroys it. About as good as the Patton disc in terms of remastering. Sharp without being harsh or bright, punch to the drums, excellent depth. So, like David Ayers, I am wondering what the master digital sources are for these. Will albums that have been issued as Connoisseurs or appeared only on Mosaic sets have greater sound improvement on SHM cds than those that have appeared as RVG remasters? The only other discs I have ordered in this series are the Dolphy Out to Lunch and the Larry Young discs. I might be tempted by the Patton Understanding discs and a couple of the Elvin Jones, but I'm not looking for an overhaul of my library for these SHM discs. Also, take my words with a grain of salt -- the differences in our listening systems and ears will vary. My stereo system has been mentioned earlier in this thread, so you know where I'm coming from.
  23. That is more than okay. I'll have this thing ready hopefully by tomorrow.
