I agree, but clearly Jazzloft wasn't in a position. DId they do their research? Did they have the options that DG has? I checked out DG to see what the shipping costs for a single cd is to the UK. Five bucks. A four cd box set? $30, international economy shipping. Brutal.

To be fair, there are different standards for mailing for businesses than for individual sellers. I am aware that ebay was offering a service for overseas shipping, but it involves one to ship it to them and then they mail it out. I don't understand how it works.

With regards to DMG, I usually call them for orders. They are very good about that. But yes, they aren't user friendly on the web.

No idea. If Jazzloft was indeed a source for Squidco, how will they react? Is Jazzloft a source as well for Forced Exposure and Downtown Music Gallery?

I really think that aside from downloads and streaming, the increase in costs for overseas shipping has really killed sales for independent sellers, online or otherwise. It has to be first class priority shipping or nothing. It's brutal.

It happens. I have to say Jim, the sound quality is terrific! And the bonus disc is chock full of greasy goodness. Love it!

I thought I could drop the flac files into Toast and burn a disc. The tunes were all skipping. I was able to play the files with a flac player and no issues. Converted the files to aiff and no issues on Toast.

If it were cheaper, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I love his interpretations. They have character and passion, which I find lacking in a lot of other conductors efforts.

I'd love to hear these, but I am afraid I am pretty much done with rebuying and upgrading. There's too much other music that demands one's attention.

Sorry, I have not heard the preamp. I only have the CD player, and it is a heavy and solidly built machine. The remote is heavy as well. I would scour the audio forums on Emotiva; they get a lot of positive reviews, and then there will be a product that generates a lot of bad press. For instance, the second version of the CD player has been known to catch fire. It was discontinued. But that seems to be the exception, and I think there is a lot of bias against Emotiva because the parts are built in China then assembled here in Tennessee. Irrational reasoning , I think, if not racist. They guarantee their products and there is a trial period so one can return if not satisfied. I have heard nothing but good things regarding their preamps and amps.

The Jazz Loft sale is a mystery. They will not refill stock, but I can't tell if it is just the dvds or the entire store. Plus, there is no formal announcement on the website or the email I had received.
