  1. You're right. Missing 10% of my order, which isn't too bad. Ordered lots of blues, which might have been the reason.
  2. Seems like I have a 100% fill on my order of 50+ titles. I'll confirm when I get them tonight.....
  3. The only time I ever went there (to kill time before a set at Iridium) they were charging collector's prices for run-of-the mill in-print, non-collectible CDs. Full price new CDs were $20 or so, and midline-priced discs which should be at no more than $11.98 were going for $15. Hoppy, With regards to CdCellar, I've been doing the best I can to replenish their jazz stock. There's Record and Tape Exchange in Fairfax, but their prices have skyrocketed -- I think they are doing too much Amazon research of prices. And Joe's Record Paradise is still pretty reasonable, and they have been drowning in vinyl lately.
  4. Let me get this straight. People watched porn for the plots?
  5. The Santamaria Columbia albums are what they are -- party albums. The real stuff was on Riverside. However, I enjoy the Columbia lps very much.
  6. Got mine last evening. Thanks Chuck!
  7. No, unfortunately not. The catch is you have to know what you are looking for so that the employees can find them. And they are poorly catalogued.
  8. Yes, what is up with all the Chinese made tube amps I see on ebay?
  9. Lon, I was ready at one time to dive into the Decware tube world. Until one day a 1960's H H Scott 299C integrated amp came my way, and after getting it recapped, I haven't considered anything else. It would be interesting to compare the two systems (old and new)....... I have a secondary set up at my girlfriend's: Sansui 5000A receiver (surprisingly transparent and quick, an excellent sounding machine) HK CDR2 Technics SL-1800 with Pickering 3000 needle Mini Wharfdale speakers
  10. I stand corrected. The seller canceled all of my orders, stating that they had anticipated a shipment of new stock, but it wasn't filled. So they're refunding my order.
  11. All four cds I asked for were shipped.
  12. Actually, there are two discs that cover "Free jazz" in the box. One in West Germany, the other in East. The final two discs are improvisational stuff. Hey, for $27 this isn't bad at all.
  13. Pretty darn good 70s Polish jazz, like early Weather Report:
  14. Heard some tracks from this set, ordered it from Amazon: Vol 173 - Musik in Deutschland 1950-00
  15. YOU try driving up I-95 on a weekday, at any given time......... It's a friggin mess on that interstate highway.
  16. Richmond? What about DC?????????????
  17. Lon, that looks great! Give us a report on the sounds once you get it.
  18. PM sent on a bunch of discs.
  19. I haven't had a problem selling on ebay, though I will say people are not being as impulsive in their bidding as in the past.
  20. I was trying to edit my "April cd sale" in the Offering topic, and the Edit feature button is no longer there. Help?
  21. Just upgraded my turntable cartridge from a Goldring to an AT 440la. I have a Pickering 3000, but it is a bitch to find a non generic replacement stylus for it. The Audio Technica will need some breaking in time, but it has a fuller sound than most of the other needles I have used (Grado Black, Shure 97xe, etc). Happy!
  22. The Henry Grimes "Solo" double cd set that came out earlier this year is fantastic. Not easy listening for one sitting however -- needs to be taken in small bites.
