I am getting a new Ipod this week so I decided to give the Etymotic (6i) a try another friend recommended these also I was not sure if the in the ear format was the best way to go but for the gym and in the car it makes sense for me Wise choice. Nothing out there matches these[at their price level, that is].

Parkertown, I am VERY anal about records and cds in my collection, but once I left the donated discs on that library counter they ceased to be mine. As long as someone gets some enjoyment out of them, that's all that matters. If nothing changes, I plan to continue doing it on a yearly basis.

I had a LOT of cds and dvds I've been meaning to sell for a long time, but decided to donate them to the library in our town instead. They gave me a tax form, I declared a full retail value and should get a decent write-off for this year's taxes. PLUS the library will now have some nice Duke Ellington, Keith Jarrett and Wayne Shorter discs that perhaps will turn some kid onto jazz. Anybody ever done something like that? Made me feel kinda liberated, too...

My cds are the newer vintage, with the alternates and restored takes.

Remembering that Mingus' Candid LP set is missing one or two alt. takes [and Diane?] vs. the Sony cds, how does the sound of the Mosaic LP set stand up to the Sony cds? Mosaic is chronological, whereas the cds are of individual albums with the alternates at the end. I already have these cds - Mingus Ah Um Mingus Dynasty Also, does the Columbia/Legacy 3-cd box contain any extra material vs. the 2 cds?

I'm going to a smoking cessation session in Brookline this Saturday afternoon [yes, I hope it'll work ] and will have a couple of hours to kill. What's THE vinyl joint not to be missed? I was thinking the Looney Tunes near Berkelee College; any other opinions? God help me.
