    Well, I never knew Gerald arranged 'River's invitation'. I thought Hank Crawford did those arrangements. But the name of the arranger was never mentioned on the label of the 45 I had or the LP I've got. A wonderful record - I always loved the idea of making a bossa nova out of a very slow blues MG

    Nope, I've never had a mobile phone, as I said a few posts back. Don't intend ever to have one, either. Someone wants me, I've a phone at home. If I want someone, I'll wait until I'm home and phone them. All our calls to real people from the house are free 24/7, if we don't take longer than an hour on them. Why should I pay for something I already have free? MG

    Very much that neighborhood -- good luck finding it. I agree. I should have recognised kwela whistles, but they're so unprominent... This I really don't recognise, so it will be hard to find. Still, it has to be a track from an LP or EP, can't be a single, which does limit the possibilities. MG

    I think Perri Lee is better with a small band. I have her Roulette LP done at Birdland with Eddie Chamblee on tenor sax and I forget the name of the drummer. That's nice. MG
