I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I saw him many times, several with Graham Bond, and once had the pleasure of chatting with him over a pint. He was a gentleman and fine musician.

Without fear of contradiction, I can assure you that you will find an incredible selection of cds and vinyl available here that will far exceed your expectations. I'd suggest bringing nothing more than a change of underwear, toothbrush and empty suitcase. If you want to send things back by mail, it will cost as per this chart. I hope this helps. I've watched it since it started. As you say, the characterization is very well done, especially the three women who compliment each other so well. A minor point but I find the lack of glamour refreshing after so many tv cop shows with chisel jawed blokes and fashion model babe leads straight from Hollywood central casting.

Intruders BBC - final episode. Pointless making any comments for those who haven't followed it. I think it'll go on to become a cult classic. I liked the fact that it never once spoon fed the viewer, you worked it out on it's own terms or switched off. Ronald Reagan :alien:.

#19 won't be a problem, once the beast has passed by the weather returns to normal very quickly. I can barely imagine there being a third one following. Two in two weeks is more than enough.

If it's the weekend it must be typhoon time. This time we've been assured that this is the mother of all typhoons, we were just kidding last weekend, you really, really must run for your life and so on. Nobody cares at all, there are so many typhoons here that they don't even bother giving them names, just numbers. I just hope it doesn't fell one of the trees outside again. A couple of years ago one went crashing into our next door neighbour's balcony. This one is # 19 this year.

I liked both seasons of Line Of Duty. I got mixed up there. It was Line of Duty I meant. State of Play was a tremendous series from about 15 years back which I think got remade in the US more recently. The Shadow Line was another strong series. Happy Valley is on DVD in the UK. They might still be doing the translations for the subtitles for the American market!!!! Watched the first part of the second series of Peaky Blinders last night: As ever, extremely stylised with grim, dark exteriors, very violent but compelling. Gang warfare in post-WWI Britain. The first series was set in Birmingham; they're branching out to London this series. You should have added The Honourable Woman, Bev. That was great, one of the year's best. I've not seen Peaky Blinders but your post might prompt me to do so. I agree about the probable necessity of Happy Valley subtitles for the American market. I've always been grateful for the fact that I can follow any British regional dialect and usually have only minimal trouble with the American ones. It seems, however, that quite a few of our American chums have genuine trouble with British regional. Given also the often documented disdain for subtitles among younger cinema goers, it rather freezes out a lot of excellent films., which is a shame. Half way into the first season of Peaky Blinders and finding it very interesting and enjoyable. Thanks for the timely reminder that I'd overlooked it.

One of the most inflationarily used words in recent human speech (at least in the Anglosaxon world of lingo). Probably because nothing is "held in awe" in the original sense of the word anymore these days. Forgive my usage of it, i was an impressionable kid in the late eighties/early nineties when we were bombarded with Ninja Turtles/Bart Simpson/Bill & Ted style 'bogus duuuuuudes' and i've never been able to shake it. Defenestration! That word entered my consciousness via Garth Ennis' run on Hitman, the DC comic. There was a character called The Defenestrator, and his super power was pushing people through windows, or hitting them over the head with a window pane that he carried around: A like totally awesome dude. It must cost him a fortune in glaziers bills.

Homeland Well done. The first two parts were tight, well written and much better without the worn out Brody plotline. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series and hope they can keep it focused and avoid lapsing into silly side stories. The Good Wife Excellent. It's always been a favourite and still maintains a high level of acting, writing and pacing. Gotham Enjoyed it up to now.
