  2. You can pull in CNN and FOX (for baseball! for baseball!) right? When I was in Tokyo a few years ago, my brother in law had those. Although, watching a night Yankees game over breakfast is a little odd. P-l-e-n-t-y of major league baseball and yakyu!!!!!! Fine if you like to watch guys hitting balls I guess.
  3. Don't know if you've been hitting the local shops...but if so, are the JPN stereo releases that are being sold individually (not in box sets) actual mini-lps like the mono ones, or digi sorta things? Not exactly sure what digi sort of things are. They look like this- http://67.55.46.213/media/images/music/abb...-remastered.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_0NCtJDyAMNs/SezM...0/New+Image.JPG
  4. I went into this with only a passing interest in the stereo remasters, I was more interested in the mono stuff, but to my surprise the stereo set is just fantastic. Even my missus commented on the sound quality and she's usually into Brahms and Rachmaninoff .
  5. Streets Of SF Season one. Great, Karl Malden excellent and complimented by Michael Douglas.
  6. One day of Japanese tv and you wouldn't have to ask that.

  8. What did Serena say to the line person ? Her tantrum was unbelievable, guess she's forgotten about being a graceful loser, sportsmanship etc.
  9. Listened to Beatles For Sale in both mono and stereo and must go for the stereo this time. There's none of the old wishywashy vocals on the right, band on the left anymore, just an exquisitely balanced sound that is beyond comparison to the old cd. Rocks big time, and then some.
  10. Listened to both the mono and stereo versions of Hard Days Night and honestly can't say which I prefer, they both sound fantastic. What a great record,I've had to rethink me previous ideas about best Beatles albums.
  11. Beatles For Sale, mediocre ? No Reply,I'm A Loser, Baby's In Black,Eight Days A Week, I'll Follow The Sun, Every Little Thing are mediocre ?
  12. On my way home from work I started shivering and felt rather poorly, got home, flopped on the sofa, took my temperature which was 38. The missus freaked, rang the hospital Swine flu line, hauled arse to the hospital, flu test, negative but the doc warned that full blown symptoms usually take 5 days to appear. He was worried given my history of bronchial problems, gave me some heavy duty antibiotics and medication to bring down my temperature. He was also concerned about my liver function but the test results were fine. Today almost normal at 36.8 but feel exhausted and down. Hopefully it's just a viral infection like Holy Ghost's wife. Thank goodness for the Japanese health service.
  13. The mono Please Please Me is juke-box potent. I Saw Her Standing There is just amazingly full of drive and presence, really something. Even on my modest Onkyo set up it sounds phenomenal, I can only imagine how it must sound on top end equipment.
  14. Just dropped in at my local dvd-cd rental shop and the stereo remasters are already on the shelf ! The shop chap said they don't plan to rent the monos but I'll get those from a friend.

  16. I've had three maybe four, as part of a major dental treatment programme that lasted over a year. I didn't find the procedure very painful, just unpleasant. I had to go several times for each tooth but the cost wasn't so much. I can't be sure but I think I paid about 8000-9000 yen (80-90 US) per tooth. That's using Japanese health insurance.
