  1. The Four Yorkshiremen Sketch, one of my faves. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=Xe1a1wHxTyo
  2. Here's an interesting interview with the director, Darren Aronofsky and Marisa Tomei. http://www.combustiblecelluloid.com/interv...aronofsky.shtml
  3. The first two episodes of the new show with Tim Roth, ' Lie To Me'. Very good so far
  4. I'm really sorry to hear these stories guys. I've been struggling for the last few years with low income and lower prospects. Luckily we managed to make a stash for a rainy day and have rent controlled housing. If not we'd be living in the park.
  5. Still watching ' In Treatment'. Next up # 25 . It's so intense I have to watch in smallish doses. The missus is watching Ozzy Open almost non stop. I don't like tennis so am banished to the next room with the small tv.
  6. Angel Heart was great.
  7. I saw Bond quite a few times. His best band was the one with Jack Bruce on acoustic bass, Ginger Baker on drums and John McLaughlin, who was replaced by Dick Heckstall Smith. At the time they were playing in half empty clubs for very little money. Talking about Klooks Kleek, I remember seeing Fleetwood Mac with Jeremy Spencer there, they were great.
  8. Nice one, Alexander. 'The Wrestler' was great, I could almost physically feel his pain. Look forward to some more reviews
  9. Normal as in the conventional format that most people use . Do you mean normal as applies to this particular situation or normal in a wider more philosophical sense? If the former then I think my answer will suffice. If the latter then you'd better start a thread and gather a wide range of opinions as my opinion might well be abnormal.
  10. Thank you chaps, everything has returned to normal.
  11. Why has the board switched to a new hard to read, hard to follow format ? The posted messages on individual threads are no longer visible, only the headings. Is the change permanent ? The old format was much better.
  12. 'In Treatment '. I'm completely addicted.
  13. Episode five and sinking into a mire of mediocrity. I used to look forward to the weekly antics of Jack and the gang, now they are just another embarrassing example of a tv company not knowing when to call it quits but instead milking a once good idea for ever last drop of revenue. Sad.
  14. Beautiful unbroken blue skies every day. Air bone dry. Cold H8L2.
  15. The first four episodes seem like just more of the same old plot lines slightly retooled. Dirt poor African country gets it's hand on Star Trek technology, yeah, I see. The show is well past sell by date(imo).
  16. Kate Winslet rules. She was absolutely outstanding in Revolutionary Road. Still I thought she should have won a bunch of awards for 'Little Children' and she got nothing.
  17. It's a great series. You should definitely check out BBC's ' Ganges'.which has photography to equal the majestic 'Planet Earth'. The Blue Ray versions must be a wonder to behold. http://www.amazon.com/Ganges-Blu-ray/dp/B0...7521&sr=8-1
  18. Panasonic TX32LX75 . We have been very happy with this LCD set, the pic quality and sound are both great. Using an HDMI connector, dvds look great. I tend to watch a lot of MPEG-4 and they too look superbly sharp and clear. A big improvement over our previous Hitachi. BTW, wasn't there a recent thread covering the same topic ?
  19. Next up episode 8. Absolutely the finest visual account, thorough, grim, relentless and superbly well made.
  20. The film was 'Frenzy'. I've long been fascinated by Pinter and have tried to collect as many of his filmed works as possible. Even small forgotten things like 'Turtle Diary' are made special by his unique writing style. The Servant, Accident, The Go Between and The Last Tycoon are among my favourites. I especially treasure my old vhs copy of The Collection with Lawrence Olivier,Malcolm McDowell and Helen Mirren.
  21. Swedish series of Kurt Wallander stories. Next up #7. Highly recommended for police procedural fans.
  22. Sorry to hear that. Losing a cat can be especially heartbreaking. My cat was 21 when she died. I still miss her not jumping on the bed and licking my nose.
  23. The same as every day, muesli, Kellogg's Special K, banana, dates, soy milk, yoghurt, oj, Italian roast coffee. Usually add Kiwi fruit but I'd run out this morning.
